Digital camera Review: Helps X10 signals communicate between power line legs

X10 equipment and modules are inexpensive, but the control signals are subject to interference and attenuation (signal loss). In addition, control signals are only sent once so if the signal doesn't make it to the device, nothing happens.
In my case, the X10 signals were being affected by the amount of computer equipment I was using. The more effective the power line filters in the equiptment, the weaker it made the X10 signals. This device can't fix that, but it does help couple X10 signals from one leg of the power line to the other. The 120/240 volt power system in a home consists of two 120 volt circuits. Without this device, the only place for an X10 signal to couple from one 120 volt circuit to the other is at transformer feeding power to the house. This is important when one X10 device is on one leg of the power line and the other device is on the other leg of the power line.
Unfortunately, X10 signals are usually wiped out or very severely weakened when coupled through the utility company's transformer (which is typically shared among a few homes). This device couples X10 signals between the two legs of the power line and may solve reliability issues for some users.
The device itself should get 5 stars, but due to the nature of X10 technology, it can't always fix the problem.
