Digital camera Review: Got a used unit

I got the shipment about an hour ago.
The outside shipping box looks good, totally undamaged. The inside actual product box tells a different story. The edges are worn and torn up without any visible tape holding the box intact. After opening it, nothing has a plastic bag wrapping. Even the wires are not nicely wounded with twisted metal wire-ties. The twist on cable ties are also in different colors (if they were factory sealed, I don't think they would use black on one cable, and white on the other and grey on another...).
I am very tempted to return the item because it just seems to be an used item. There's no protected plastic film on the screen either. I am not saying there should be, but the moment I opened the shipment, it showed signs of use before I got it.
The picture quality is mediocre at best. Large pixels. I put in 8Mega pixel pictures and they look like scanned pictures. The grainy look doesn't justify some of the nice pictures. if look at the frame from 10 feet away, it looks ok. But if you look closer, the low quality look takes the smiles away.
It doesn't play many video formats, only MOV and AVI. I tried MP4 and it didn't work.
Nice features: SD card slot x1, Compact flash slot x 1, remote control x1, and on screen display for the settings.
For the price (on sale), it's not a bad deal (quality vs price), but with a 10.4" frame like this, you'd expect something a little better.
I've seen the Philip 10.4" also sale for about $30 more, I am very tempted to return this and just get that instead.

This is just about the best gift you can give to a parent or grand parent. It was easy to install pictures. Has worked very well for a year of constant use. My mother-in law has has a stroke and has trouble with her mobility. She just loves this frame. We switch out the card in it every couple of months and fill it with different pictures. Bought this frame for myself and I loved it so much that I bought another one for my mom for Christmas. Very well made and has a great picture. It is very easy to use and comes with a lot of memory options. I would recommend buying a 4GB SD card because the the built in memory is not enough. Was a bit doubtful for a 10 inch frame for $70, but was very surprised. First thing you notice is how nice it looks overall. Using it was easy dropp photos to the root of a SD card. Insert SD to frame, plug it in, and power it up.
Perfect gift for the technology unsavy.
