I had similar problems as others, IE. not recognizing one of my camera's USB card, recognizing the other camera's card, but refusing to download even one picture. I went to Smartparts website and downloaded their software to my computer as recommended, and when I plugged in the USB cord from the frame, the frame recognized that the cord was plugged in, but the software kept saying that I had to plug in the cord to download pictures. I tried to close the software and my computer froze, so I finally had to reboot, at which time the program finally said it was ok to disconnect the cord. After that, the frame would only play a few of the pictures from one camera card, then freeze and screech. I made several attempts to contact their tech support via email and got no response for over a week. Tried their phone support, and was put on hold for about 6 minutes, and finally left a voice message. I did not recieve a response until I complained to the New Jersey Better Business Bureau where their sales headquarters is located. In the email I recieved I was told that they basically didn't give a rat's patootie that I had received the frame as a gift, and that I would have to send them a copy of the sales receipt if I wanted to return the frame to them for repair/replacement. Thank God Amazon has a little more ethics than this Shenzhen China owned company, and agreed to let me return the frame to them for credit.
Digital camera Review: Didn't even get to use it! Summary: 1 Stars
Bought this frame for my technologically challenged mother-in-law because it would be so great for her to just take her card out of her camera and put it in the frame. My husband gave it to her at dinner and when they got home we tried to upload the pictures from their meal. The frame was only out of the box for ten minutes before it had some sort of annurism and went black. It never came back up and tech support never answered. Returned it immediately! Too bad because these features were exactly what I was looking for.
Digital camera Review: Died after a year Summary: 2 Stars
My experience coincides with two camps of reviewers I see here: phenomenally good quality for a digital frame, but then it dies after only a year. The frame has been stellar in its display of digital pictures (though its interface is irritatingly unintuitive, but you can live with it because the display is so good). Then inexplicably, roughly twelve months after I got it, it would not turn on again. I've confirmed that it's the frame, not the power adapter. For the price, it should not fail so soon.
Digital camera Review: Disappointing Summary: 1 Stars
Uploading pictures was easy and display was excellent. Unfortunately, once the frame was turned off, its life was over--it simply could not be turned on again. Waiting for return instructions now but the short life of this product obviates any advantages otherwise attributed to it. Not sure why Consumer Reports rated it so highly and would not recommend purchase of it.
Digital camera Review: Don't buy the Smartparts SyncPix! Summary: 1 Stars
We received the SyncPix SPX7E for Christmas 2008. We spent a lot of time troubleshooting the frame with no success in getting it to show any pictures. It turned on just fine but never did automatically begin showing pictures as the manual said it would. In Jan, '09 we contacted SmartParts and we were told to return the frame as it was defective. The representative told us that upon their receipt of the frame they would ship out a brand new one to us. It's now mid-April. We have never received our new frame. Furthermore, the telephone #'s for Smartparts have been disconnected and there has been no response to my numerous emails to them. If anyone has any suggestion on what to do next, I'd love to hear them. In the meantime, we are out our frame and seemingly have no way of replacing it! I'm amazed that this brand of frame is still being sold as the company seems to be out of business!
