Digital camera reviews of Smartparts SPX8 8-Inch Syncpix Digital Picture FrameDigital camera Review: Don't rotate pics Summary: 3 Stars
No instructions with this frame, but what I found was that depending upon the camera used, pictures I'd previously rotated on my computer in a separate photo program (which is how I like to store them - right side up), were automatically rotated again. So a tip is to NOT rotate first.
On a separate note. Had the frame for 1 year when pictures started denegrating on the built-in memory. i.e. streaks across the pictures where they only partially painted. I deleted the pictures off and recently reloaded, so I'll see how long that works.
Digital camera Review: Easy to Load Summary: 5 Stars
This is the easiest photo frame for loading pictures. I just download to a flash stick, then insert it in the back of the frame and voila,...done. Highly recommend this product.
Digital camera Review: Easy to use, great picture Summary: 4 Stars
This frame was very easy to set up, just put your memory card in the slot and it imports your pictures and video while applying compression and orientation automatically. The pictures look excellent, but the video playback is just adequate, thus 4 stars. Be careful putting the SD card in the slot, the opening is a little too big and before I knew it, the card was stuck between the frame and the display panel (I loosened a few screws and it came right out). I bought two of these and they both looked and worked great.
Digital camera Review: Exactly as promised Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not much for writing reviews, but did just want to say that the Smartparts delivered exactly what it promised. It does take a while to load pictures from an SD card, but, really, so what? The build and picture quality is high, and the feature set is strong. I'd buy another without hesitation.
Digital camera Review: Excellent Picture and easy to use Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this frame before the Consumers' review came out. The picture is top-notch and the software is very capable, although a little hard to navigate around. It is also upgradeable, which is rarely the case for these products. I found that it took about 3 sec per picture to load, which isn't a big deal, although I had saved the pictures on a memory stick pro in the 800 format using Picasa album, which I recommend. I also recommend that one backup your pictures before doing anything with them, including loading them onto a memory card. The only other downside I noted was that the controls on the back of the frame are pretty cheesy and hard to use. The remote does a better job.
Overall it is an excellent product, and would be a 5-star except for the discrepancies noted.
