You get what you pay for, it's true.
Sony is known for quality, at a price.
I bought this memory stick when it came out and it was on sale for $99.
I thought I could save money by buying a knockoff at half price!
Those lasted about a year before it stopped working, incidentally after their warranty expired,
either someone programmed them to break (like computers in the early days) or I was just plain unlucky.
Nope I had several knock off MemSticks and they all cease to work in about a year.
The Sony Memory Stick is still chugging along, after nearly 3 years, how bout that.
Now I have a newer model camera which uses a memory stick at half the length. Now companies are coming out with tinier and tinier cards. C'mon guys please agree to one size, its like waking up and finding out your new electronics take AAAA batteries that measure 1cm by 1cm.
I gave this product 4 stars if it weren't for the high price.
Now I tell people to avoid sony cameras to save money, and they get decent pictures, plus memory cards at unbelievable prices that make me green with envy :)
