Digital camera reviews of Sony BDP-S1 1080p Blu-ray Disc PlayerDigital camera Review: 1080P Quality really worth it! Summary: 5 Stars
About two months ago, I bought my Sony Bravia XBR2 46 Inch 1080P TV Set. Last Saturday, after some research (between HD and Blu-Ray), I decided to make jump I got my Blu-Ray Player. Now the big question was selecting between this model and the BDP-S300. First, I went to the web and checked Sony's page, afterwards, checked here and look at the comments posted. Trust me it was not easy at all, but decided to get this model. So, I bought it, took it home, hooked it up, and took a look at my first movie. It was not a Blu-Ray movie, instead, I watched Scarface. I could not believe how clear this movie was! Simply Superb! Then, I decided to watch a Blu-Ray movie, The Fifth Element; SWEET!! Simply Sweet. I strongly suggest this item, it's money well spent. If you got a 1080P TV, and you paid that extra money for it, then Blu-Ray is a must. You will see TV as it was ment to be watched. Don't trust what I say here, just see it for yourself!
Digital camera Review: A Piece of Crap Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this for the house for Christmas and we really got a lemmon. The unit only worked for a couple of days prior to having all sorts of video and audio problems. For this last month I have been on the phone with Sony who keep sending me fileware upgrade in the hope of fixing the unit. The last upgrade simply fried the unit and it no longer works. They then request I pay to ship it back to them so they could fix it and I would get it back withing 2 - 3 months. This was unacceptable so I brought it back to a Sony Style store and demanded my money back. I will never purchase another Sony product again.
Digital camera Review: A fine player...... Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this player about two weeks ago. It delivers an incredible picture. I watched the Last Samurai on blu ray and wow!!! If you can afford this player get it.
I also own the samsung blu ray player 1000. The real difference between the two is load time. The samsung loads a little bit quicker. Otherwise, the PQ is about the same. Toss a coin!
I think in short order everyone will come to discover that blu ray will win the HD wars.

Digital camera Review: BLU-RAY IS HERE TO STAY!! Summary: 5 Stars
I now own a SONY BDP-S1 Bluray player. It was worth the wait. This is a well built machine, very similar to the TOSHIBA HD-A1 in quality and workmanship (see my review of the TOSHIBA). It has added features such as customized video controls (color, brightness, contrast, hue, etc). The quality of the Blue-ray movies is just as good as the HDDVD discs. The early reports of substandard picture quality may have been due to the first SAMSUNG Blueray players which had some bugs which were resolved with a recent firmare update.I have also tested the SAMSUNG player, and it has excellent picture and sound quality, but I preferred the SONY because of its better built frame and features, and thus, the higher price.Regarding the uncompressed PCM 5.1 channel sound option in the Blueray movies, if you can connect the SONY player to your receiver via 6 channel individual RCA connectors, you will enjoy the most spectacular sound.
