This Sony Blu ray player has excellent picture quality used with my Sony LCD 40"TV
However it was very difficult to always have sound. The only way that I can have sound when playing a dvd is if the TV is off before I turn on the Blu Ray player.
It took me a long time to figure out why I did not have sound when I would try to play a dvd on the Blu Ray. I had purchased a HDMI cord to hook it up to TV.
Also, the price dropped $60. within a few weeks after I bought it.

This Blu-ray player has top notch picture and sound quality for a reasonable price. The only minor complaints I would have are that it has no eject button on the remote, and its load time is a little slow. I was looking for a quality Blu Ray Player for my bedroom and this one takes the cake by far.
I have owned a number of Blu Ray Players and this is one of the best. It's not going to beat my Playstation 3 but it cost a third of the price so I'm not expecting it to. But is does rival the picture and sound quality of the PS3.

Lets face it its a good looking player
Cons:
It's not the fastest loading player in the world but its not super slow either.
Not a huge fan of the entire face of the player opening with the disc tray (afraid the tray could wear out faster that way)
This is a no bells and whistles Blu ray Player and thats what I was looking for. I have a computer or a game system if I want to stream Netflix or movies. I want my Blu Ray Player to play Blu Ray and this player does it very well. Avatar looks amazing on my XBR2!! If you want a basic player this is the one to buy!
