Digital camera reviews of Sony BDP-S360 1080p Blu-ray Disc PlayerDigital camera Review: BDP-S360 Eject feature Summary: 5 Stars
Some reviewers report the lack of an Eject button. True but not totally!
While this is true, the 360 is capable of Ejecting if you use a HARMONY Remote and
you configure the Eject command when setting up the HARMONY.
Digital camera Review: Basic but great Summary: 4 Stars
I saw this on sale for almost half off, so I picked one up, even though I wasn't really ready. Good move. This little unit is great. I didn't expect a lot of features at this price point, but what this unit does, it does well. It's not a Bravia, but has Bravia link so you can control your TV and B-R disc player with one remote. This works with other TVs, too. Not just Sony. I was impressed with the picture, but I was really impressed with the upscaling. My old dvds never looked so good. If you're looking for a really good, really inexpensive Blu-ray disc player, this is your unit.
Digital camera Review: Beautiful Picture but lousy features Summary: 2 Stars
Ok let's start with the positives...Beautiful Picture, easy to operate and sound quality is wonderful. For the money great deal BUT here's the fly in the ointment...We played a couple of blu rays and they were beautiful. Cars for example what a picture! You felt like you were there. We were ecstatic until we tried playing the newly released Twilight Eclipse movie that was released and got an unknown error message. I called tech support and was told it was because a firmware update needed to be installed since the newer releases had a different format. We requested the update and installed it. We got the Twilight Eclipse movie to play but now when we try to play the Back to the Future trilogy only the first movie plays and the 2nd and 3rd give us that unknown error again. I called the support desk again and they tell me there's another firmware update which has not been released for my model. At this point i'm upset to say the least so I asked her does this mean i'm screwed until you decide to bring out the next update for my model? Bottom line she is wrong. After you attempt to load the so called newer releases on the dvd player it will eventually play them. If it's a firmware issue then why would it play the disc after a few tries?
Bottom line is I'm going to do my homework next time i go get a new blu ray dvd player.
Digital camera Review: Best Blu-Ray for the price, great features, easy to use Summary: 5 Stars
Sony has done it again. Great Blu-Ray player with all the features you would expect for around $200 and its an early Christmas in my home time. My sister loves this model, which is one step up from the Sony I got for Christmas last year and $100 cheaper to boot!! When she found out it up-converts all her regular DVD's to 1080p she was amazed and I told her that with her HD LCD TV she got last year for Christmas that she only need one HDMI cable. She loves it.
Digital camera Review: Best BluRay player I've seen. Summary: 5 Stars
Having purchased the "first edition" Sony BluRay player two years ago when they first hit the market, I found that I had made a big mistake. The original player was very slow in loading BluRay disks, sometimes taking up to 10 minutes before the movie could be played. This latest version on Sony's BluRay player seems to have corrected all of the problems it's predecessor had. It loads and begins to play BluRay movies within 15-30 seconds.
Lastly, this newer version cost almost half of what I paid for the first edition.
I recommend this player to anyone interested in a quality BluRay disk player.
