Digital camera reviews of Sony BRAVIA V-Series KDL-52V5100 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, BlackDigital camera Review: 2 Defective Sony BRAVIA V-SERIES KDL-525100 LCDs! Summary: 4 Stars
7/24/09 I received this tv one week ago from Amazon's delivery service and it is a beautiful tv and the picture is awesome! Problem is, when I turn it on in the morning or when it has been sitting for more than a couple of hours turned off and turn it on, there is no sound? I have to turn it off & on several times before the sound kicks in. I have contacted Amazon several times and they tell me that I have to contact Sony and trouble shoot the problem with them myself! And I have to get a case number from Sony to prove that I contacted them. This is ridiculous and insulting to think that I spent this kind of money on a product from Amazon and one week into it, I have a problem with the tv having a defect and I'm supposed to contact Sony and take time out of my day doing so, sitting on hold, waiting for a repairman to come out at his convenience? Amazon should replce this tv at once! I'm very dissapointed in Amazon on the way their handling this situation and would urge anyone thinking about buying this tv to think about this first...
Update:
7/27/09 Amazon is sending me a new Sony BRAVIA V-SERIES KDL-525100 today after talking with a Sony rep for 45 minutes this morning and troubleshooting the sound problem, they determined in fact the tv is defective. I will keep my fingers crossed that this one performs without any problem!
Update: 08/05/09 & my replacement tv has now been lost in transit. I am speaking with Amazon right now trying to figure out where it is and how this could happen. This is beyond ridiculous!
08/07/09 I received my replacement this morning and the delivery & setup went great! I just pray that the tv is performs like it should and I can finally enjoy my purchase...
08/10/09 Unbelievable! The second tv is also a defect doing the same thing as the first & I just contacted Amazon and I have to wait for this one to be picked up and make it's way all the way across the country, before I can get a different tv. I do not recommend this tv to anyone...
08/19/09 The tv is finally being picked up on Friday and returned to Amazon for a complete refund. Good riddens!!!
Summary of Sony BRAVIA V-Series KDL-52V5100 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, BlackFor consumers who want an HDTV that keeps pace with fast-action movies, sports, and game play, Sony BRAVIA V-Series Flat Panel HDTVs combine Full HD 1080p performance and Motionflow 120Hz technology for an amazing viewing experience. Motionflow 120Hz takes both high-definition and standard programming a step further by increasing sharpness and detail in fast-moving images for more fluid, natural motion. In addition, BRAVIA V-Series HDTVs use proprietary Image Blur Reduction technology to further enhance the picture for even better performance. The HDTVs also feature BRAVIA Engine 2 technology, which uses exclusive Sony algorithms to reduce visual noise and sharpen and enhance an already-striking dynamic contrast ratio. Additionally, they include seven versatile HD connections to ensure you get impressive image quality from all your HD components. Take advantage of four HDMI inputs, component and composite inputs, and a PC input, as well as a USB input that lets you play audio files from USB storage devices, or connect a compatible camera to your HDTV for a quick and easy slide show. Sony knows your home theater set-up doesn't stop with your HDTV, which is why the BRAVIA V-Series HDTVs are compatible with BRAVIA Link Modules -- including the BRAVIA Wireless Link, BRAVIA DVD Link, and BRAVIA Input Link Modules (all sold separately).
