Digital camera reviews of Sony Bravia V-Series KDL-40V2500 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTVDigital camera Review: Couldn't be happier Summary: 5 Stars
This is our first HDTV and I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I first looked at one of these at our local Sony store. After going to all major electronics stores and Costco to look at what was available we decided to go for this Sony. Amazon had by far the best price of $1849 at the time with free shipping. In my novice opinion this TV is the best for the price. I can't really give an in depth technical review, however, the picture is beautiful, the sound fantastic for a TV (we ended up buying a Bose system for more of a theatre sound) and set up simple. I ordered it on 12/1/06 and was a little sad when it told me it would be delivered after 12/27 due to the holiday. The next day I received an delivery date of 12/13 and I'm happy to say it was! The delivery guys brought it into the house, unpacked it and took the debris away...at the free shipping price. What fantastic service. Like I said, we couldn't be happier!
Digital camera Review: DO NOT BUY ONE....YOU'LL WATCH TOO MUCH TV. Summary: 5 Stars
While shopping for this item I fully intended on going with a Samsung top of the line 40" LCD 1080. I went to a local superstore and noticed the 720p model from Sony. The extremely vibrant colors demand your attention and stand out in a crowd. I received delivery of this item. I set the TV up with my home antenna. It looked great for an analog picture. It took me a couple days to attempt to have the digital tuner Auto Program. I was unaware that I could even pick up digital broadcasting over the air. I'm 40 minutes west of Philly and pick up 25 digital channels without cable or dish. I'm not crazy about Nascar..which I'll look at between NFL seasons...but OH MY the Nascar race looks perfect on this TV. I'd buy this TV again from Amazon in a heartbeat. I'm also typing this review on my new Toshiba A135 notebook using the TV as the monitor now. But, this TV causes one problem after another...now I need a cleaner DVD player. I want a combo DVD Recorder/Hard drive Recorder that has an HD tuner. Is that too much to ask since all the technology exists. My father loves Sonys and he wants one. My warning would be that you may find you watch this BRAVIA too much.
Digital camera Review: Disappointing Summary: 2 Stars
I kept it for a couple weeks but just couldn't live with the problems. The HD picture is gorgeous and detailed--unless the scene is very dark or bright. On a dark scene, the black is grey with purple clouding (my set was built in September). On a white scene, there are two small grey areas at the bottom, and plentiful grey splotches at the top if you're at all off-axis vertically. And blonde hair looked a little green, despite my fiddling with the settings. While a progressive DVD picture was pretty nice, 480i (SD cable) and VHS were terrible.
Replaced with a 42" Panasonic professional plasma (TH-42PH9UK), which is 1/3 less expensive. The plasma is just as nice with an HD picture (if not quite as detailed), the colors are beautiful (blonde hair is blonde), the blacks are gorgeous, the whites are solid and pure, and the SD picture is so much better than the LCD (VHS is even decent).
If you're lucky, your Sony won't have clouding, but I still wouldn't pay this kind of money for a TV that can't reproduce true blacks or whites.
Digital camera Review: Everything They Say! Summary: 5 Stars
We are so glad to have purchased this TV. It is everything the reviewers say it is, which means Fantastic! The 40" size was just right for my den and it looks great. Wish I had bought one sooner.
Digital camera Review: Excellent 1080P from Sony Summary: 4 Stars
Purchased this item 3 weeks ago. No complaints. This is a quality Sony product with a price tag around $2000. The HD is amazing the over the air stations are clear and the sound is above average. Many settings for calibration are included, so with a little tweaking everyone can be happy with this purchase. Only thing is no cablecard slot in this set. FYI. Don't buy the pricey HDMI cables they just have more padding then the cheaper ones no difference in VIDEO/AUDIO quality.
