I also own a Sony A700 but it is a big camera to lug around all the time. I wanted something small that I could throw in my purse to carry all the time. This camera is wonderful. I get great shots in all kinds of light, the pictures are clear, close-ups are amazing, it's fast and the battery lasts a long time. The only thing that I would change to make it even better, is more optical zoom.Digital camera Review: great camera

This camera is compact and so easy to use. It takes great pictures in all kinds of settings and the macro feature is awesome.
The only shortfall is it lacks date/time stamp but you can accomplish this with the software.

I received this for a gift. I had an older, similar model and wasn't thrilled about getting it again. WELL the improvements are AMAZING!!!! I love that you point the camera on a subject and it makes sure the picture is centered. It is small and compact and the picture quality is the best. It is easy to download the pictures on my computer and share them with all of my friends. I love the color too. Sony is the best.
