Digital camera reviews of Sony D-FJ041 CD Walkman Portable CD Player with AM/FM Tuner

Digital camera Review: Sony's CD Style
Summary: 4 Stars

When it does come down to it, we honestly though are sadly not seeing very many people still buying CD's anymore. While it is sad, there are those who are not buying CD Players anymore either, and instead choosing to trade in for MP3 Players that are easier to bring their music with them. But, there are those who still want to own a simple portable CD Player, and Sony has known that for years, and they still know how to make that quality alive for anyone whom wants to enjoy a great CD Player. For those who do want a good one, this is it.

The Sony D-FJ041 is a simple and convient CD Player that delivers nothing but the basics for anyone whom wants to bring their favorite CD's from the past and present on the go. It works great and runs on a simple 2 AA batteries. It also handles great with CD's that you've burned on your computer, as well as CD's that you've made from MP3 music files. The player is simple and easy to use, is very inexpensive. It also dounbles up nicely by including a simple AM / FM radio that works well. The CD's also play well with its simple and strong Anti-skip protection. Yet, with the simple and straight-forward convience, there are a few disadvantages. The first one is that there is a relatively short batter life. Where as you used to have longer battery lives with many CD Players on the go, here this one has only about 15 hours of battery life. The second one is with the CD's that you'd have to burn from your home computer. It will not play your CD's if you have them in MP3 files, you'd have to convert them from MP3 or any other computer related file into the WAV files. This would honestly be the only way for them to work on the player.

All in all, there are still many people who do want great CD Players anyway, and Sony knows how to keep those media's alive and well. I absolutely still recommend the D-FJ041 as a great buy for anyone whom has been loyal to Sony's products for all of these years. It is still a simple and convient CD Player that works well, and handles with the strongest of all electronics. If you have previously owned a CD Player, and are looking for a new one, this would still be a great place to start.

Digital camera Review: Very well the best CD player I've ever owned
Summary: 4 Stars

Considering I tend to be overtly picky on quality (in every way), I'd rather go with Sony than any other brand. And this cd player, by far, is the best I've ever owned.
And yet, I can only think of one problem- whenever I'd set the radio stations to my preferred stations and take out the batteries and replace them, the stations are at the default stations again, that gets annoying, so you better have batteries with very long life in them to enjoy your stations longer.
Other than that, I seriously love it!

Digital camera Review: Walkman Disappoints
Summary: 1 Stars

This is a very disappointing product. (1) The all-white buttons on white background, with white raised or indented tiny type for button labels are very hard to read. (2) The button labels are not self-explanatory (e.g., how is one to know that "Enter" = "Start the CD player"?) (3) The brief instruction sheet that comes with the product is frustratingly inadequate. (4) The little control buttons around the rim are not only not labeled well, but are hard to push without accidentally pushing an adjacent button. (5) But worst of all, after using the CD player successfully only one time after I purchased this Walkman 3 months ago, it now DOESN'T WORK AT ALL! (The radio still plays, but I bought this to listen to books on CD.) (6) It is still covered by warranty, but Sony tells me I have to pay $7.00 to ship it to them plus a $31.76 repair fee. I could buy a new one for only a few dollars more--but I will never buy this brand again.

Digital camera Review: Walkman Portable Player
Summary: 4 Stars

This Walkman works very much like the one I had before, but beter, especially since it also has a tuner. I cannot use the ear buds, so had to buy an over the head set to go with.

Digital camera Review: Won't stay off!
Summary: 2 Stars

I purchased this walkman, new. I listen to Audio books. Sony is the only CD walkman that saves your place when turned off. The unit sound is good and never skips when walking or jogging. The problem with it: To listen to the CD, you have to turn up the vol, fine...but all of a sudden I'll be listening to the audio book and the radio comes blasting thru. To get the radio off, you have to hit the radio on button 2xs then the radio off button, then hopefully, when you turn on the CD, it comes up. This sometimes takes 2 - 3 attempts to get the CD back on. When I'm done with the player and set it down, noone near it and it the radio turns on by itself. Turn it off, comes back on. I called Sony they said it needs fixed, a dealer can look at it for $50. I only paid $45. So I'll wait till I get totaly frustrated with it and probably pitch it in the garbage and buy a new one. It will be a Sony, because it saves your place, but without the radio. Fortnately, I do use rechargable batteries.
