Digital camera reviews of Sony DCR-DVD610 DVD Handycam Camcorder with 40x Optical Zoom

Digital camera Review: From camera to DVD player !
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm proud of my purchase. Great camcorder for the price. It's easy to learn and use. I used it during my vacation and am so happy with the video quality. The only thing it doesn't have is the remote control; They said it's included but it's not. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Digital camera Review: Fun
Summary: 5 Stars

We are really enjoying our new camera...it works great, it's easy and what surprised us is it only took a few days for it to arrive by mail.

Digital camera Review: Gift recipicient loves it
Summary: 5 Stars

Gave this camera as a wedding gift to a couple and the said that they love it.

Digital camera Review: Go for a hard drive camcorder
Summary: 1 Stars

With the price of Hard Drive camcorders continuing to plummet, I would highly recommend purchasing a 30 or 40GB Hard Drive camcorder instead of a DVD camcorder and the expensive and finicky MiniDVDs.

JVC (GZ-MG330) and Panasonic both make HardDrive camcorders that are just above the price of this unit. The number one thing that sends a camcorder to service is being dropped and having a full DVD burner built in a asking for mis-alignment of the heads with any such drop or strong jolt. The JVC is only $40 more on Amazon (That's the price of just 20 one time MiniDVD's.)

Digital camera Review: Good Camera for the price
Summary: 3 Stars

I have used the Sony DVD610 for several weeks. The hybrid feature is nice and I tend to store directly to memory stick and keep a few disks with me for over flow. The 4 gig pro-duo memory stick holds about an hours worth of video. The 40x zoom is nice but is difficult to hold steady shots when fully zoomed. The picture could be better. I film my sons hockey games from the stands, when zoomed out you cant read the players names on the jerseys. I probably should have gone with the DVD710 model to get the more clear picture. Over all I am satisfied with the camera. It functions well with no odd problems.
