This DVD player is awesome! The screen resolution is very good. I don't notice the difference between it and my HD TV. All the buttons are on the screen making it easy to use. You can even scan by using the arrow buttons in play mode. The battery life lasts about 5 hours with the backlight set on the default setting and using headphones. Cords to hook it up to your TV are included, as well as a power adaptor to your car. I've replaced my home DVD player (not portable) with this one because I like the displayed image better. I also travel with it. The battery pack makes it a little heavy, but it's compact enough to fit in a carry-on bag. It's perfect when your stuck at the airport or have a long flight. I've owned mine since October 2008 and have had no problems with it. This is one of the best investments I've made.Digital camera Review: Awesome portable player

Just returned from a week long vacation with the portable player. Great picture. The sound isn't full range. No bass, but it is perfectly mid and highs for cars to cut through road noise. Sounds way better in the car than my laptop.
The 6 hours battery is rated with brightness at lowest, which is almost not viewable. Expect closer to 4 hours. I like how both the standard electrical and car power adapter are included.
I didn't do the car DVD holder. My kids like it on their lap then angle the screen way back

You just have to love Sony products. This portable DVD player is probably the best one you will buy. It has the BEST picture I have seen on any protable DVD players and sounds great too! Controls are easy to use along with the remote. Sounds great in the car when using an ipod cord. Just wish it had a larger screen. We bought this in April 2009. In December 2009, the screen went black. There was still sound, but no picture, and none of the buttons worked. Reading the the comments, I see this is a common complaint! 90 days parts warranty does me no good. So I will send it back to Sony, and have it fixed (labor warranty is one year). we use it occasionally as an extra dvd player with the TV and used it once on a trip. Have not had any problems yet. it even plays my burnt DVDs
