I normally don't buy Sony products, I have always had bad luck with reliability, but after researching portable DVD players, this one kept coming up as the best. I have a 2 year old now and I needed something to keep her entertained in the plane (12 hours flight!). Anyway, battery as expected does not last 6 hours, no way, I had it set at the darker setting I could still watch, I think you can get 4 hours, but not 6. I couldn't find a replacement battery anywhere to save my life, still looking for one! But other than that, it is great (so long as it does not break down like all the other Sony crap I've bought in the past). So, so far I'm really happy with it.
I have had it for over 2 years now, have not used it much, but it works just fine, I'm happy with it.

The player shows a good quality picture, good sound. It takes a bit of learning to use it in order to get to the place you want to be on the DVD but is easy to use overall. One problem is that by the time I have it in a carrying case to protect it while traveling it is a bit heavy. I would recommend this product.Digital camera Review: Great DVD Player

I bought this player to watch educational DVD's from the Teaching Company in areas that interest me without having my family & friends (much less a plane full of strangers) having to share my interests. It is just perfect! It's easy to use (I'm technically challenged!), the sound is great with or without the earphones and the picture is amazing. All in all,I am really,really pleased with my purchase. I bought it from Onecall - great price, no tax, no shipping and I received it in THREE days!
