Digital camera reviews of Sony DVPFX810 8-Inch Portable DVD Player, Black

Digital camera Review: Bad product, no customer support
Summary: 1 Stars

We were very surprised with the performance of this product. Very poor for a Sony product. I have other Sony products and this has nothing to do with the brand quality.
I would not buy it. We purchased it a while ago, and a couple of months after the purchase, we started to have problems with the lens. We had some success cleaning it, but as the time passed, it could read less and less dvds.
I don't recomend this product, there are much better brands out there today.

Digital camera Review: Battery Life is GREAT
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought two of these for the kids for a recent vacation. The battery lasted through 2 full movies. Great for a long flight or drive.

Digital camera Review: Beautiful Screen...Lousy Speakers
Summary: 4 Stars

This high end player is a pleasure to watch...a burden to listen to. The only way to enjoy is to use headphones or earbuds. I suggest Sony abandon the speakers completely and sell it with included headphones or earbuds. And the loss of speakers could make the screen bigger. Nine inch wide screen? Through my Sony Fontopia earbuds the sound is amazing! I plan to update to Sony noise cancelling earbuds.

Digital camera Review: Best in Show
Summary: 5 Stars

Let's be realistic. It's a PORTABLE DVD Player, not a HOME THEATRE module or the centerpiece of any entertainment center. It's fairly lightweight for having an 8 inch screen. I did get 6 hours out of the first charge, even now(6 months later), I consistently receive 5 solid hours. The screen swivels for a flat-viewing option on a decent color display. It is not a HD display, but what portable device is going to do that for under $200? I've owned two other brands for this price-or less-and remember, you'll get what you paid for. For the price, I've not seen a better quality product.

Digital camera Review: Best portable DVD player I've owned.
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this player for almost two years now, and for the past few months I've used it almost every night to watch movies as I play on the computer because I can no longer stand Nick Jr. and all of the other toddler shows we have on the main TV. I used it rather heavily at first, then it sat for a year with no charge or use, but when i dusted off the case and charged it up, I still get around 2.5 full length movies off of one charge. The small speakers aren't the best, but thats common on these type of items and I use headphones anyways, so that was never an issue for me, the sound is great through them with plenty of volume to spare. I rotate the screen around each time I watch it and fold it back closed when the movies are over. The hinge is still as sturdy as the day I brought it home.

The only problem I've had with it was a couple weeks ago while in the middle of a movie I had paused it and left the room, my toddler ran over and started mashing the buttons (and had fun cranking the screen around). The command buttons seemed locked and would not respond any more, so I turned off the power waited a second then turned it back on, it fired up and the movie took off where it left off and all buttons worked again.

Just a side note, this thing will take all night to charge if you drain it completely dead.
