This is a very good DVD play. I have no complaints, and I have had it now for several months, and use it daily. It plays all regions of DVDs, so I am no longer limited to Region 1. Now, I can purchase DVD's from all over the world, and get the best price and availability possible. It is true that the instructions were a xeroxed copy, and the English is clearly for a British, rather than American reader. However, the instructions are very clear and easy to follow; I set up the machine to my specifications in just a few minutes without any difficulties at all. This DVD player is exactly what I'd hoped it would be--regardless of the fact I was prepared to be disappointed. It couldn't have been easier to set up. All cords, English manual, and US plug adapter were included, and I had it up and running in a few short minutes. When I started looking for a new DVD player, I knew I wanted one that was region-free and would play VCDs, and this Sony does it all. A big thank you to all those who posted reviews. Unfortunately manual was in Spanish. CD was attached to print it in English. It would great if product sold in the USA would have manual in English.
