Digital camera reviews of Sony HTCT100 Sound Bar with Subwoofer - BlackDigital camera Review: Best Deal in Theater Sound - Period Summary: 5 Stars
We purchased this sound system to enhance our new Samsung 650 HDTV. We did not want 5 speakers or wires everywhere. We were led to this particular sound system by Consumer Reports. Suffice it to say this is the best deal in surround sound bar none. A relative has a $1000 system and this system outperforms his in all categories. My son is buying one to replace his 5-speaker system! You will not be disappointed.
Digital camera Review: Best all-in-one sound solution Summary: 5 Stars
First things first, anyone looking for a surround sound system should buy a surround sound system. If you want surround sound you'll need a 5.1 system. End of story. Any claims that this system offers psuedo surround sound, or surround-like performance, are bogus. This sony soundbar is a front sound only system, think of it as a 3.1 system if you like. The soundbar features left, right, and center channels. The sound reproduction of the bar itself is very good. Dialogue is crisp and clear, and a bit of tweaking of the center channel can make things even better. Bass is ample and not overpowering thanks to the combined sub/receiver. Again settings can be tweaked to find that sweet spot for your viewing needs. If you've read other reviews or read the product specifications you know what kind of connections this thing has, so I'm not going into it here. Needless to say if you're upgrading from built-in speakers in a small room, or just don't like the clutter inherent with a dedicated 5.1 or 7.1 systems, this is the way to go. It's a great product, got mine for 100 bones. Worth it.
Digital camera Review: Best soundbar under $300 Summary: 5 Stars
Sound is perfect for smaller houses/apartments. Easy to set up with 3 HDMI inputs. Great soundbar to use with any type of TV. I have this thing paired with a LG 42SL90, Samsung BD P1600, XBOX 360 and universal learning remote. If you don't buy this soundbar your going to have to pay several hundred dollars more to get something better, without a doubt the best sound system you can buy for under $300 or even $500.
Digital camera Review: Best value for the money! Summary: 5 Stars
After much thought and reading every review that I could, I bit the bullet and ordered this from walmart.com and had it shipped to a nearby Walmart, saving me $30.00 from the price for the same product at the store! If you don't mind waiting for about ten days this is a good way to purchase. This system works well for what it is and much improves the viewing experience with our 50 inch plasma. It is not to be compared with our 5.1 component system in our entertainment center downstairs, but my wife and I didn't want the speakers and wires to clutter our living room area. For this use it is perfect! Bass can be window shaking and is easily adjusted to avoid getting a migraine. Dialogue is easy to understand and is also adjustable. I am more than satisfied and am glad that I made the plunge and bought this, as I had been sitting on the fence waiting for more positive reviews. Hooking this system up for me involved the included digital optical cable and two 6 foot hdmi cables. The instructions were pretty helpful and hookup only took about 15 minutes. Sony knocked a home run with this unit, imho! Thank you Sony!!
Digital camera Review: Better than TV ,not a True 5.1 Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this system as replacement for existing 5.1 System. It sounds better than my current TV, but not as good as 5.1 System. I am yet to notice Surround System sounds. Also remember to have 15 inches space from active part of the Sub woofer as manual says, other wise you may get Hiss sound as I got.
Pros:
-Very Clear Center Channel. Speech is very clear.
-All in one system, hdmi connections are great
Cons:
-Sound is very boxy out of box. Had to tweak it to get it right.
-Logitech Harmony does not have Discrete codes for this device. But this device does support discrete codes.
-Even the highest sound level is not much higher than current TV.
-No headphone jack, I was surprised by this omission.
