Sound was a bit static when listening in the factory work place. After purchasing this radio, I found out that it will stop working w/ the change to digital signal in June. The reason I purchased this was for the TV band in the first place. I have since returned this purchase.

I read all the mixed reviews and still thought it might work for me because I wanted both a large speaker and battery capacity with reasonable compactness for carrying to different work sites.
1: Sensitivity is just OK; not nearly as many stations as my car radio. It is also VERY sensitive to antenna position. Much like the little one I had in the 1960's I find myself moving it around a lot and settling for anything that will come in OK.
2: Selectivity is also poor, nearby stations are hard to dial independently and the wide green bar showing frequency might as well be twice as wide.
3: I could only detect one weather station and never could get it to come in well enough to understand the words. I live close to San Francisco and other weather radios do fine.
4: Now the good sound is gone after 3 weeks of use! Without ever using it at high volume the speaker now rattles even on the few stations with a strong signal. I can't turn it up enough to work across the room.
Back to the tedious research! Now where is that receipt?

Not the best sound quality but works well for AM, which is what i use it for. When using headphones you may only get sound in one ear. I have two of these radios and both have the problem. We purchased this as a Christmas gift and just received it today. Needless to say I was more than a little disappointed when it arrived to see a sticker on the box that said 'due to the switch from analog to digital signals on Feb 17, 2009, this product will no longer receive audio broadcasts of television programs'. That was the ONE and ONLY reason we made this purchase - my mom wanted a radio to use during power outages that had the local TV stations. Save your money if TV is what you're looking for.
