Digital camera reviews of Sony ICF-36 Portable AM/FM/TV/Weather RadioDigital camera Review: Fantastic Summary: 5 Stars
The 4 AA batteries last 20 to 40 hours thanks to it being analog instead of digital. For this reason, don't get a digital. We don't bother plugging it up and leave it on when we leave the house. I've bought 4 units. It picks up stations most other analog radios cannot, but it's not the best of the best like some digital radios. After getting warm, the station drifts up a little bit and you have to adjust it a little to reduce static. Sound is really good for this size and it's loud enough for any common use. Style and appearance is very good. At only $20, the bang for your buck on this is as good as it gets.
Digital camera Review: Fantastic Portable Summary: 5 Stars
This is a solid, good sounding portable. Reminds me of the quality of years gone by. It tunes well and very selective once you lock on the station. One thing I noticed was the weight. It has a heavy feel to it for a small radio which tells me it is built well. I'm an old electronics technician and good components and transformers just weigh more. I seriously doubt you can buy a better radio for the price.
Digital camera Review: Fantastic Radio Summary: 5 Stars
I have tried a lot of different portable radios for around the house use. And I like this one the best, I get great reception on AM, I don't use FM, Weather or the TV bands very much. I bought it to listen to AM. And I was not disappointed. I am receiving New Orleans, Chicago, New York City, Atlanta and Denver in the evenings, BTW I live in the Midwest. If this is the type of radio your looking for you should like it. I had the CC Radio, it worked ok, but it was so big that it was hard to lug around. I still have the GE Superradio, but I dont use it much because of size. And neither seem to bring in stations any better than this little Sony does. Digital radios use batteries up too fast. The batteries last a long time in this Sony.
Digital camera Review: Fills my need Summary: 4 Stars
I ordered the radio so as to pick up our local TV stations and weather station during power outages. The radio does this well. I am pleased.
Digital camera Review: Fine little radio-- a fine bargain. Summary: 5 Stars
This is the third one on these radios I've purchased through many years. I give them rough treatment by frequently shuttling them between greenhouse and home, and have found them indispensable.
