Digital camera reviews of Sony ICF-C218 Automatic Time Set Clock Radio (Black)

Digital camera Review: 10/10
Summary: 5 Stars

Bought one a few years ago for an alarm clock, then another one a few weeks ago just for a clock.

Absolutely great. I've only had to change the time once on the unit I bought a few YEARS ago!

Sound quality is great
Reception is AWESOME. I can pick up even weak AM radio with ease, FM even better!

Hassle free lithium battery -- no worries about it rupturing, lasts years and years - much better than the alkaline counterparts.

Big display too, can be seen from anywhere in the room.

No antenna to break.

Will buy again and again and again. I'm very picky about alarm clocks and this is one of the few I actually like.

Digital camera Review: 6 minutes off
Summary: 1 Stars

I was really happy with this, easy to use, cool alarm features, the radio is not bad for my cat during the day.

But the clock sets itself 6 minutes too fast.

Digital camera Review: A bit dim, but all right
Summary: 4 Stars

Not a bad looking little clock radio. I bought it for use on top of the TV, and for that use, the numbers are a little dim, but still readable. It would be nice if Sony had a switch to adjust the brightness. If there's one there, I haven't found it. The clock radio comes in with the time pre-programmed for Eastern Time Zone. The time zone can be changed through the time setup procedure, and fortunately, so can the time. It makes little sense to me for this clock to be programmed at the factory with the incorrect time -- mine was a couple of minutes off, and had to be adjusted. Perhaps for those people who can't figure out how to program the time, that is a nice feature, as long as they live in the Eastern Time Zone. For the rest of us, the pre-programmed time doesn't make a whole lot of sense, although it shaves a minute or so off the setup time if the clock is running behind time.

Digital camera Review: A good buy
Summary: 5 Stars

If you're looking for something small, bright enough to read at night but not so bright it keeps you up, then you'll like this clock. It's transportable, it's cheap, and above all, it works!

Digital camera Review: A much too bright little radio...
Summary: 3 Stars

Nice little radio alarm clock but desperately needs a dimmer - the display is so bright I have to turn it away from me in order to get to sleep, then, if I wake up in the middle of the night, I have reach out and fumble around to turn it toward me to see the time.
