Digital camera Review: "Automatic Time Set" Does Not Equal "Atomic Clock"
Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this product assuming that "Automatic Time Set" would mean that this clock could receive the atomic clock signals and automatically set itself like so many other clocks on the market these days. Wrong. According to Sony, "Automatic Time Set" actually means that the clock time was set at the factory and if you are lucky enough that the backup battery doesn't go dead in shipping (as mine did), you may open your ICF-C318 and have an alarm clock *hopefully* set to the correct time. More still, Sony even saw it fit to print "Automatic Time Set" right on the front of the radio, so every morning when you glance at the time, you can be forever reminded how awesome it was that Sony set the time at the factory for you. However, as the battery in mine was dead, this message will forever make me remember how dumb I felt when I found out that this clock wasn't what at all what I thought I bought.
Besides that, there ain't much to say about this besides that it works. No frills and it's fine as a very basic clock radio. I'm glad it was only $15.
