Digital camera reviews of Sony ICF-C492 Large Display AM/FM Clock Radio

Digital camera Review: Great Product!
Summary: 5 Stars

This Sony alarm clock is the best! The display is big and bright and easy to see in the dark.

Digital camera Review: Great except it gains time
Summary: 3 Stars

...and you lose it. OK for a few months, then I realized it wasn't my imagination--the clock speeds up.

Good radio, large display, but not a good clock.

Digital camera Review: A great clock radio
Summary: 5 Stars

This replaced my clock radio of 20 years, and I don't miss the old one. Take a look at this clock radio, it is designed perfectly. Large LED and slender, yet all buttons are right at the front bottom of the radio.

Digital camera Review: Great design, constant buzz
Summary: 4 Stars

As others have detailed, this is far and away the best low-price alarm clock radio out there: small footprint, large display, adjustable brightness, better than average reception, etc. I would otherwise give it five stars. However, mine has a nearly constant low tone buzz. I can live (and sleep) with it -- and shipping it back isn't worth the cost -- but it's annoying and I am disappointed in Sony.

Digital camera Review: A bargain and easy to read without my glasses
Summary: 5 Stars

I paid $19.95 for this clock-radio. I was looking for a clock with numbers large enough that I could read the time from up to eight feet way without my glasses. I really did not care about the radio or the alarm. I have a clock-radio-IPod player on my nightstand, but I was looking for something I could read when I was facing way from the nightstand.

There are periods (often for weeks or even months) when I can only comfortably sleep on one side or the other. During those periods, just rolling over to check the time is sometimes enough to leave me wide awake and unable to get back to sleep for an hour or longer. I needed a way to check the time without moving very much. I tried projection clocks, but the projected images were too small or too dim for me to read without my glasses.

This is has turned out to be a good solution for me. the numbers are large enough and bright enough for me to read even through it is sitting on a bookshelf several feet from my bed.
