Digital camera reviews of Sony ICF-CD7000BLK AM/FM Stereo CD Clock RadioDigital camera Review: FUNCTION & STYLE Summary: 5 Stars
Style and functionality give you everything you need as well as a pleasant alarm to wake up to! Great product.
Digital camera Review: Fully featured and as durable as any electronic device I've owned! Summary: 5 Stars
Soon after the birth of our first child, we realized we needed a reliable clock radio/CD player for the nursery room, and one that would double as a white noise machine.
The unit had to have a dimmable display and a repeat button on the CD player so we could play a white noise CD softly through the night to sooth our son. This unit played nearly continuously all night and for several hours during the day for the first 6 months of our son's life, and since then it plays 1 CD at naptime and 1 at night 7 days/week.
That's 2 years of heavy use with no signs of faltering.
We've flown it in checked baggage twice and lug it to camp twice a month in the summer. It hasn't been babied but always works.
It automatically sets the clock when you plug it in, and the backlight has 3 levels of illumination.
No rave review would be complete without some suggested areas of improvement: the buttons for controlling CD play and features could be larger and better marked for use at night by tired parents. And the unit itself is quite large, taking up twice the space of our previous, commodity-priced CD clock radio.
If this thing ever dies I'll promptly order another.
Digital camera Review: Functional Alarm Clock - Not a Home Theater Summary: 5 Stars
I always read negative reviews first and personally they didn't bother me. They seem to focus on the CD player and the "sound quality" and reception of the radio. One reader used it as a regular radio in her kitchen. Please ... this thing is supposed to be used to wake you up in the morning, not entertain you while you're cooking and eating breakfast, or so I thought.
I just received mine and cannot unfortunately comment on longevity.
My immediate first impressions were positive in 3 areas:
1. Digital Tuning and Presets - The most important feature for me is the ability to have the clock hold its station and also not have to fiddle with vernier tuning to find a specific station. All I want is a loud station that is somewhat pleasant that will wake me up in the morning. I don't want to snooze for the next hour, I don't need to wake up to a CD, and I certainly couldn't care less about bass and treble controls. Geez, that's why people buy $800 receivers for their den. I have 10 FM presets all with strong sound and a variety of programming. They all come in strong and loud and wake me up.
2. A backup lithium battery. It's about time I was able to buy an electronic item that had one. Every 2 second power failure had me wandering all over the house resetting time on the oven, microwave, TVs, VCRs, another clock radio, etc.
3. Sturdiness - This item has some heft to it. A bit larger and heavier than many other alarms but if you've got a rambunctious cat in the house, no worry that this clock is going to end up on the floor.
In reading the complaints issued here on Amazon, I'm not having those issues. Sound quality, CD player making noises, poor time readability, blue backlights keeping people awake, difficulty finding the right buttons to turn off the alarm, and the list goes on. All I can say about that is that I'm not troubled by any of it.
My only negative is the humongous CD lid which is of the push and release variety. Every time I handle the radio the doggone lid flips up on me. Since I couldn't care less about the CD player I've found this annoying.
My advice is that if your prime concern is getting up for work in the morning to a loud non-staticy sound and don't want to stay up an extra hour tuning the wakeup station, for $50-$60 this radio is a winner.
Thanks for reading ... Sam
Digital camera Review: Good But Not Great Summary: 3 Stars
Two items would have made this a 5 star, Great review. I take 1 star away for some of the buttons being too small and the text under them barely readable. The other star is taken away because of no headphone jack. I understand that this is not a concern for most people, but on some websites it is listed as a feature, but does not exist. BE WARNED. Overall I think this a very good CD Player/Clock Radio. the led brightness does not bother me and the sound is pretty good for 2 small speakers. I am returning mine because I must have a headphone jack and I purchased this because I saw that one existed, but doesn't.
Digital camera Review: Good CD clock radio for reasonable price Summary: 5 Stars
This is a good CD clock radio for reasonable price. Sound is pretty good. Note that it does not have a headphone output.
