My teens love the CD player, I use it for the radio. We have it on our bath counter. Good sound. Can hear it even in the shower. I've only had this unit a few days but am very pleased with the sound and performance. Considering the idea is to be as weatherproof as possible and keep the unit small, the ICF-CD73V does a remarkable job.
Some of the reviews here said the volume isn't loud enough. As a result I was expecting to receive this unit and be barely able to hear it.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the volume was more than adequate for the shower. What's more, when I play this at lower volume levels, the sound is clean. Perfect for those early morning get ready for work days when I'm working and my wife has off and is still asleep.
A few minor things to consider. The unit, although compact, is still large enough that finding a place to actually hang it can be difficult. I already have a shower caddy hanging from the shower nozzle itself so I had to clear out a few bottles of conditioner to place it in that area.
Another thing is that there seems to be no CD shock protection at all. Small bumps send the CD sound off into limbo for about 3 seconds until the machine gets back on track. The CD does not skip, it picks up where it left off, but the sound does disappear for a short time.
The FM radio itself is not very sensitive with the antenna not extended. The antenna is of the wire dipole type and is awkward to deal with. Local stations come in just fine, but the distant and low power stations are not possible to receive with the antenna coiled up. If you think commercial radio is bad on the mainland, you haven't been to Maui. It would be great to pick up low powered Manao radio from Wailuku, but the antenna is too much of a hassle in the shower.
These are small tradeoffs for my particular situation. I didn't buy it to jog with it. It was purchased for a load it with a cd, hang it and play it situation. For that purpose this is a nice sounding unit.

Received this shower cd/radio yesterday. Easy directions to set the time and the stations. Great sound quality and simple buttons to use. I bought this for my boyfriend for x-mas. I wish I had kept it for myself! Great sound and reception. This is no comparision to all of those other little dinky shower radios on the market. It's sturdy and has a cool design. I know it's really pricey for a shower radio but if you like music and want to play cds in the shower it's a luxury that you will enjoy.Digital camera Review: Great Product

It has been two years since I bought this Shower CD Player and it is still working fine. The quality of the sound is great. The only thing I would add is the capability of playing MP3 CD's.
