THIS IS THE SECOND SONY SHOWER RADIO I HAVE PURCHASED. THE FIRST ONE I HAD LASTED MORE THAN TEN YEARS. USED IT EVERY DAY. THE ONLY THING YOU SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF IS WHEN THE TV BROADCAST GO DIGITAL IN FEB. 2009 I DON'T THINK THIS RADIO WILL BROADCAST THOSE STATIONS. This is the second Sony ICF-S79V Weather Band Shower Radio we have owned. The first one, bought in the early 1990s is still going strong, showing the great Sony workmanship that we all hope to see in all products. I love this shower radio! It's got great sound quality and reception and the digital tuner makes it very easy to use. The preset buttons are great. I use this radio about 20 minutes a day, and since I bought it in December I have not yet had to change the battery. I highly recommend this shower radio!Digital camera Review: Lasted about 2 weeks

I put this radio in my bathroom, away from the shower. It worked fine for about 2 weeks. Then one morning, I turned it on and after about 10 minutes it shut off. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get the radio to work. The next day, same thing - radio ran for about 10 minutes then shut off. I was not using the timer. My daughter picked it out for my son-in-law. He loved it and especially the features and durability. It was one of the highest rated shower radio's and I'm very pleased with it.
