For the $$, none better out there. I used it pruning trees and setting up Xmas lights last weekend. It's better sounding than any other I've owned for the price. For using in the garage or anywhere around the house, camping,etc. you will enjoy the sound and clarity at higher volumes than most radios in this class.Tuning is right on also. I bought this to replace one I dropped! Although this no longer offers TV sound (For obvious reasons) it's great for keeping close to hand, and taking it anywhere around the house and yard. My only complaint is the tuning wheel; I got used to the knob, from the previous model I had. However, after getting used to it, it does tune well enough. The sound levels and clarity are very good for the type of listening I engage in, namely Talk Radio. All in all, for its type, this is a very good radio!Digital camera Review: Excellent Product

We recently purchased this radio for an elderly relative. It is of high quality, with easy to use controls and has a large enough speaker to create good sound. It will be relied upon for emergencies, so the 3 AA batteries, which are to provide 80 hours of operating time are a great plus. After all it is a Sony and appears to be well worth and more the price. During this time of very high tech. it is refreshing to see that Sony has produced a simple, easy to use product. This radio is very retro, but gets the job done. The controls are simple and the sound is very good. The size of the package is just right.I like the the dual power option (battery and AC) The price is very low considering the usual Sony quality. My wife likes it so much I may have to buy another one.
