2nd under counter unit we've had and the sound and clarity are phenomenal. Not sure but the speaker arraignment appears to give a bounce off the counters.Easily installed and the kitchen timer is instinctive and is used daily.Digital camera Review: Easy installation; Horrid sound

First, the good: The installation was easy. It comes with a paper template that you can use to easily mark where you need to drill the four holes for the support bolts. To be safe, drill one hole, then put the first bolt through the template to hold it in place while you mark the next one for drilling. It also comes with adjustable risers to get the right distance from the bottom of the cabinet in case the front of the cabinet goes down a bit below the bottom.
Now, the bad: The sound quality is absolutely horrid. Even at low volume, the sound has nasty distortion. Fortunately, my wife isn't as distracted by it, so we're not returning it, but Sony definitely needs to do something to improve the sound quality. We would never have bought this if we had had the opportunity to listen to it first.

This Sony cd player clock radio is exactly what I was looking for. I especially like the Ipod hook up. Now I can play my choice of music when I don't like whats playing on the radio. It fit perfectly under the cabinet and I did the installation myself. The template that came with to drill the holes were perfect and it only took a few minutes. The radio reception is great. Just follow the instructions on placement, (not near the microwave ) I walked around my kitchen while it was on to find the best reception placement. I like that it is small and doesn't hang to low under the cabinet. There is still lots of room to put things on the countertop. Great find, Great buy.
