This radio exceeded my expectations as soon as I programmed my favorite FM and AM stations and placed the radio in the shower. After re-positioning the short antenna wire with its suction cup, all but one distant station came in great. This has always been my problem with other shower radios. Having a digital tuner and buttons for exact and easy station selection is just fantastic. The volume is also easy to adjust and more than adequate as it uses "C" cell batteries instead of the usual "AA" cells in most radios. The radio is placed on a cut-out area in my tiled wall in the shower so it's easy to use and see the digital display. I've always been a Sony fan with TV's etc.. and I'm not surprised that their quality is well done here. Enjoy!Digital camera Review: Best Shower Radio Ever.

Just wanted to write an update to state that 2 years after purchasing the SONY ICFS79W shower radio it is still excellent even after being used every single day. The batteries last a surprisingly long time. I may have changed them once or twice in the 2 years that we have owned this radio. Also, this radio has the BEST reception of any radio or stereo in my entire home.

I ordered this shower radio for my husband as a Christmas present in 2008. It works great. This shower radio has best reception. The antenna has a little suction cup at the end which does it's job very well. I made the decision to buy this shower radio after reading about a dozen reviews for different models. This one had the best feedback for reception which is one of the most important considerations for a shower radio. Especially if you don't have a window in your shower like me! I'm so thankful for Amazon customer reviews! Yes, I would recommend the "Sony ICFS79W AM/FM/Weather Band Digital Tuner Shower Radio". You'll get a lot of use out of it. This makes a great gift gift!

I have had 2 shower radios before buying this SONY model. The quality in general is excellent. Setting up the radio was very easy. The reception and sound quality are by far, the best of the three shower radios I have had. The SONY model is heavier than the others I have had, so It required more attention to mounting it in my shower. I have had zero problems with this SONY shower radio and would highly recommend it to any potential buyers.
