Digital camera reviews of Sony MDR-E828LP Fontopia Earbuds with Winding CaseDigital camera Review: Best open air headphone you can buy Summary: 5 Stars
I give these five stars, not just as a $10 set of headphones, but compared to any headphones no matter how expensive. They are very light, and without the foam cushion, they rest very comfortably in my ear, I can wear them all day. I have found no other type of headphone to be as comfortable.
The sound is great, very clear and crisp mid-range and high-range. You will not get great bass with these, an inevitable result of this type of design. There are some other reviews which say how great the bass is. Obviously, those reviewers never tried closed headphones. There's no comparison. They are probably comparing this to other earbud headphones which aren't as good. Indeed, as far as this type of headphone goes, the bass is as good as it's going to get!
These headphones are so incredibly comfortable that I would never bother to wear something else just to get better bass. But there's something else that this headphone doesn't do, and that's block out any outside noise. And unfortunately, the world can be a pretty noisy place. So my ultimate conclusion is that this is the ultimate headphone to use if you don't need to block out noise.
I tried the more expensive Sony earbuds that you are supposed to stick into your ear canal, but they didn't work for me (but they do seem to work for some people--headphones are a very personal thing because everyone has different sized and shaped heads, ears and ear canals).
These headphones do tend to break easily (seldom do they last longer than a year), but for only $10 I can easily afford to own a backup pair.
Digital camera Review: Best....ever!! Summary: 5 Stars
Had these headphones for a long time and is the best one out there. The amount of bass this is.....*drool*. There are a lot like this, but it doesnt respond with a wide range of freq. This is very cheap and the wind-up case it awesome!
Digital camera Review: Between Good and Worse Summary: 2 Stars
The winding case is completely useless....It looks fancy, but after the first few times, winding becomes irritating. The sponge caps keep coming out. They do not fit the ear phones properly. And I already loast mine, just after owning it for 5 weeks.
The same thing happened with my two other friends who bought the same earphones. Now I am using them without sponge caps....irritating!!
Digital camera Review: Beware! A pair of dangerous earbuds ! Summary: 1 Stars
I know it might sound a little weird, but I just have to state my experience and opinon about this pair of earbuds. A very strange thing happened after three days of use. The left earbud kept electrically shocking me from time to time, though not very serious, it really annoyed me. I am not sure how this weird thing happened, but it might be due to the earphones' inability to handle the power of my mp3 player, so it sort of burned itself from the inside. Never had I expericed this kind of problem before with any type of earphones, cause I always maintain the volume at medium level and it is almost impossible for my mp3 player to create such an immense power that earphones cannot even handle. It is just probably SONY earphones' poor quality that has caused the problem and annoyance. Really can't count on cheap earphones like these.
Digital camera Review: Bought 3 already; this recent one was the fastest to die Summary: 3 Stars
Although its sound quality-to-price ratio is the best in the market (if that's ever quantifiable), this product does not last long. After about a month of using these headphones daily with my iPod, the sound quality in the left ear has suddenly become fuzzy, and is now subject to the careful adjustment and positioning of the plug (or of the wire immediately connected to the plug). This exact condition has arisen three times already to three of these same headphones that I've bought, leading me to suspect that Sony has deliberately done this, in an attempt to maximize their profit from these items.
The warranty is pretty bothersome as well, as you would need to buy your own packaging and pay your own shipping (purportedly at a lower price, but I haven't tried yet).
If you still intend on buying these, be EXTREMELY careful with handling them, for all the reasons mentioned above.
