Digital camera reviews of Sony MDR-EX51LP Fontopia HeadphonesDigital camera Review: 90 day warranty - lasts only 95 days Summary: 2 Stars
The left ear piece stopped functioning 5 days out of warranty. Otherwise it is a great product.
Digital camera Review: A Good headset Summary: 5 Stars
I am really impressed with the sound quality. I recently received an iPod as a gift and the headphone that comes with it are horrible. A friend recommended the Sony Fontopia. It was a good purchase. Maybe they should give Apple some help in the headphone department.
Digital camera Review: A Little Fragile but Well Worth It Summary: 5 Stars
I'm about to get my third pair in about two years, they're a little on the fragile side, but I'll keep replacing them until I can't get them anymore - the sound quality is excellent, they're very comfortable, and they block out an amazing amount of external sound. They're good enough that they could break twice as often and I'd probably still give them five stars.
Digital camera Review: A Nice Pair of Around-the-Town Headphones with great sound. Summary: 4 Stars
These are some of the best headphones I have ever bought and you can't beat the price for such quality. Whenever one pair dies out I immediately purchase another. I am on my third pair but it doesn't mean they're inferior. Each pair has lasted at least three years but like all things eventually they die out. I usually lose sound in one ear.
I primarily listen to electronic music so they're perfect for reproducing rich bass and high treble. They also come with 3 sizes of ear buds and they do a great job of blocking outside noise.
My only beef with my first two pairs is the earbuds have a tendency of popping off when you least expect it. They're really small and next to impossible to find once you lose one. It happened so much that I bought a stash of replacement buds from sony's website.
Don't let the picture posting naysayers discourage you. Lovelyladykat's headphones were clearly exposed to direct sunlight for a very long time. Maybe that's normal wear and tear for her but my headphone cord has remained supple and black from day one. Paperwhale's headphones obviously came in contact with something sharp and Nan Morgan definitely exposed their headphones to a heat source that melted the plastic.
These are the best portable headphones I have bought in years and definitely worth the price. Check them out.
Digital camera Review: A disappointment Summary: 1 Stars
I bought the EX51LP and was pleased with the sound quality and found the earplugs quite comfortable. The plugs did a good job blocking outside sound. But within a month, the sheathing covering the wires disintegrated where there was contact with the skin. I then bought the more expensive EX71SL and the same sheath on the wires began to disintegrate. I expect better from SONY.
