Digital camera reviews of Sony MDR-EX51LP Fontopia HeadphonesDigital camera Review: Amazing Sound Summary: 5 Stars
I bought these after reading several reviews on Amazon. Some were not so flattering but I find these headphones amazing! Some of the performance comes from the fact that the phones have little rubber tips that seal the headphone in your ear canal. It sounds uncomfortable but the rubber is very thin and it really isn't. The phones come with a few spare tips of different sizes. I am listening to Tocata and Fugue in D minor at the moment and it is incredibly realistic. I would say that the base is strong but I think the response across the frequency spectrum is very good. I would be very happy even if I had paid twice as much.
Digital camera Review: Amazing for the Size and Price Summary: 4 Stars
I have compared these headphones with the Sennheiser PX 100's, the Panasonic RP-HTX7PP-K Retro-Style Monitor's, the Sony Foldable Open-Air Headphones, and the Koss KTX PRO1 Titanium Portable Headphones. The Sony Fontopia EX51's are somewhat superior to all of the above. The Sennheiser's dry out the sound and have an edge to the treble. The Panasonic's have too much bass. The Sony Foldables have too little bass and a strong edge to the treble. The Koss are almost all bass with only a faint, murky treble.
The Sony Fontopia EX51's are truly amazing, considering that they have a speaker which is only 1/4 inch in diameter. Never mind, you'd never know it. There is almost too much bass. The other fault is that the very highest notes tend to sound a bit shrill or exaggerated, and I find it noticeable on high coloratura voices and violins. That is why I gave these headphones only 4 stars.
I find them to be very comfortable (I already knew that they were to be worn BEHIND the neck. Frankly, I like knowing that the short end goes in my left ear. I don't have to hunt down that tiny little "R" or "L".)
I would not recommend these for runners as they seem to have a tendency to magnify the sound of your breathing or even grinding your teeth.
Nevertheless, with all the negatives out in the open, on some pieces the sound is incredible. I tested them on Barbra Streisand's "The Way We Were" CD and found that the sound was awesome.
Digital camera Review: Amazing sound quality, more bass than all my other headphone Summary: 5 Stars
First of, thanks to one of the reviews who explained the different length cables, the right one goes behind your neck, so when you pull them out of your ear, the headphones just hang over your neck.
Second, once you get a nice snug fit, whoa, is there a lot of bass. Not muddy, distorted bass, but full-range, deep, and crisp bass. You'd swear it's coming from a larger set of home speakers/woofers or car speakers/woofers.
Not only that, but I hear subtle parts of different songs I never heard before. You'll pick up new things from your songs clearly
This is the best set of headphones I've ever owned. Hopefully it'll last for a long while
Digital camera Review: Amazing sound, but.. Summary: 5 Stars
I got these earphones for my 60 gig iPod Video and let me tell you the sound is AMAZING. I own sound-cancelling Sony headphones that cost me $100 and these sound exactly alike, with the advantage of costing $70 less. They get a little uncomfortable though because of the pressure it applies to your ears, but I'm already getting used to it so its not a big problem. Overall, excellent sound, great quality, portable, and great price.
Digital camera Review: Amazing! Summary: 5 Stars
The best headset ever!!! I had a lot of headsets (really cheap and really expensive [$100+]) and this one has shinned out as the BEST ONE out there for price and durability. The material is very durable VS the headset that is like this one in the color white... The sound is perfect... you wont be disapointed!
