Digital camera reviews of Sony MDR-EX51LP Fontopia In-The-Ear Headphones, White

Digital camera Review: Awesome Digital Headphones
Summary: 5 Stars

These headphones are amazingly clear. Surprisely strong bass and high clear tremble at a very affordable price.

Humans usually hear around 20Hz to 20,000Hz (rough estimate)
**These headphones are 6Hz to 23,000Hz**

"Another factor to consider is sensitivity, which is measured in decibels (dB). Highly sensitive speakers (anything over 92 dB) can produce clear, high-volume sound without much amplifier power. Speakers with less than 88 dB are considered inefficient; sound will be distorted on these speakers without the help of a high-quality amplifier. - NewEgg"

**These headphones are 100dB**

The different size lets you wrap the longer side around your neck when you want to take them off for a little bit.

The carry case only covers the earbuds for travel in your pocket or backpack. The carrying case looks cheap, but gets the job done. I put these in my laptop bag when I travel.

I had these SONY MDR-EX51LP (digital) for almost a year now. I mainly use these headphones on my laptop and desktop. Anyone that uses other media devices (that get hot over time) might want some protection sleeve to prevent these headphones from melting or be careful not to wrap these headphones around any media devices that are hot. I have read reviews where these headphones have melted into goo.

Great headphones for under $40.

Digital camera Review: Awesome Sound! Very comfortable! Cheap for what you get!
Summary: 5 Stars

First off; for those who do not want the long extended cord that separates into two DO NOT get the EX71LP, I made that mistake and whiles the sound was just as good, it was too much of a pain to manage the really long cord. Anyhow, a year later and I upgraded to the EX51LP and the cord is normal length. The sound is awesome on the EX51LP; the bass is clear and deep-no static and the treble ranges are just a good-not a great as the bass though. If you listen to bass heavy music then you will love these.
The comfort are amazing and slightly more comfortable than the EX71 and ALOT more comfortable than the iPod headphones. The gel inserts are amazing and totally reducing all noise from the outside so that you can enjoy the music.
The durability of these are not of the tough sort, these are very delicate headphones and will break if you step on them or tend to toss them around care-lessly in your backpack or bedroom floor. They are not cheap or low quality, but the cords are every thin and light and will rip or tear if you are rough with it. Other than that, it will survive normal everyday use.
I paid $29 for them and I don't think they are worth more than that and for $29 you'll get what you pay for.

and YES these are better than the cheaper brands like JVC and COBY!

Digital camera Review: BEWARE! Cords decompose!
Summary: 1 Stars

Avoid these headphones at all costs, especially if you would buy these to listen with while you work out. Mine lasted for about a month and a half before the cord started decomposing. The material used is very poor, the white turns yellow and then disintegrates just through normal use. If you are considering these for working out, don't buy them, they will not stay in your ears. That is assuming you sweat when you workout, these will slip out and just become more of an annoyance than anything.

Digital camera Review: Banging transfers through cord!
Summary: 2 Stars

The sound quality and comfort are fine, but you can hear a loud thumping through the cord as it bounces on your body during a workout! Very odd. I have other headphones and have never had this problem before.

Digital camera Review: Bass-less review
Summary: 2 Stars

Quite disappointed with the bass response of these headphones. Might work for some kinds of music, but for my vanilla rock-n-roll even at medium volumes on my iPod, the low freqs were nullified. Asymmetrical cable lengths also takes some getting used to.

Aloha, Neal
