Digital camera reviews of Sony MDR-EX71SLA Fontopia Bud-Style Headphones with Case (White)Digital camera Review: GREAT GREAT GREAT!!! Summary: 5 Stars
For those people who would like a good pair of earphones, these are the ones. They are not uncomfortable as earphones usually are, you can keep them on forever! The sound quality is also amazing. Some of the reviews are right: the further inside your ear, the better you will have bass. However, isn't that what we all do with earphones anyways? At least these ones are comfortable.
Digital camera Review: Good Sound, Bad Ergonomics Summary: 3 Stars
I have had these headphones for about two years. The sound is great, and I haven't had any problems with it yet in that respect. The wiring is very annoying because if you pull the cord, one earbud will yank out and then the other. If both were the same length then both earbuds would probably stay in. There's also a big bunch of extra wire from one of the ears, which gets in the way, and is completely pointless, I don't know what they were thinking.
The earbuds can come off easily if you store them in a backpack with a lot of other stuff or sometimes even in your pocket. I had to use the next size up to replace the regular size on one of my ears. Replacement buds cost a fortune, I think like $15 or something on ebay was the cheapest I could find...very irritating.
I would strongly recommend earbuds that still still have somewhat of a frame that wraps around your head...they would probably get tangled less and would be easier to take in and out.
Digital camera Review: Good audio quality with godawful build quality Summary: 3 Stars
I rarely write reviews. I bought these headphones about a year ago. They served me well with a few issues. First of all, they have very good audio quality, they isolate the ambient sounds quite well. They are also very comfortable. Now comes the bad:
-Without the extension cord, it's too short, however with the extension cord, it's too long. That being said, if you happen to wear a jacket and would like to put your player in your inside pocket, it's perfect for that particular occasion without the extension cord.
-Build quality sucks. Again, it sucks. Terrible. Bad doesn't even cut it. It's very likely to tear into pieces. Wiring in the cords is very likely to show after a while but that's nothing a good-old electric tape won't fix. Thus stated about the cord, I just glued my left earbud together because it was in two pieces...I shouldn't have to do this with a $50 (at the time I bought it) headphone.
-The piece that goes in your ear is replaceable. As a matter of fact they provide 3 sizes to your liking. DO NOT DISCARD the ones you do not use because they tear apart very quickly, especially the large and medium sizes. I have gone through 3 of them so far. They also have a tendency to get loose and fall out so I ended up glueing them securely in place.
Well, at $30, it's probably a great deal for the money but prepare yourself to replace it in a year under moderate use. Oh and buy yourself some superglue as well... :)
Digital camera Review: Good item at bargain price Summary: 5 Stars
These sony in ear headphones are very portable and lightweight. The headphones are about 2 feet, and come with an additional 2 foot extension cord. They work very well with my iPod shuffle, since i can clip it anywhere. Buyers might want to caution that the ear buds split from the left ear and you have a dangling wire under your chin or behind your neck. I don't mind, because the headphones are very comfortable and you don't really notice unless you bend down. Also, these are not noice cancelling, but instead they fit so snugly in your ear, that they reduce the noise coming in, making the music from your player the only thing you can hear except maybe loud noises, but for the most part, it lives up to its standard. I think these would be a must buy for any iPod users or for workout headphones, taking that you don't need to hear others, and that you don't mind the design.
Digital camera Review: Good product Summary: 4 Stars
Love the headphones. Wiring seems to have improved over the previous model by Sony. Sound is good. They feel solid in the ear and block out most noise. Carry case is an improvement.
