I bought these earphones from Amazon, and used them religiously with an ipod shuffle while bicycling for exactly seven months. The sound quality was more than acceptable and the earphones were very comfortable. HOWEVER, they are no longer usable because the white coating on the wires has become sticky and has started to disintegrate, exposing the wires underneath. These earphones come only with a 90 day warranty from Sony. Sony will replace them with a refurbished pair for about the price of a new pair - $29.00. Previous reviewers have noted the same problem and suggested that Sony respond to this. They have. They have discontinued the product.Digital camera Review: A review for non-exercise use

I have read almost all of these interviews, and I think it is safe to say that over time there seems to be a serious issue with the cord on these things withering to pieces IF YOU EXERCISE REGULARLY WITH HEADPHONES! However, I have had these babies for like 3 days and, for just home or casual use, I think they will hold up fine for an extended period of time.
With that being said, the quality of these babies is absolutely worth the price and then some. I just bought my brother a pair of studio headphones by Philips and they sounded amazing. I would put these up against those any day and they are tiny earbuds! You will not be dissappointed with the sound quality and range. For those of you who want booming base these may not be it. (My own take on "quality headphones" has changed recently) They are aiming for deep crisp highs and lows as opposed to heavy one way or the other. The sound separation is amazing for earbuds and definitely made me a believer of so many people who say that good headphones bring out sounds you have not heard before. My applelossless tracks are extrememly high quality and these headphones gave me a true appreciation for audio encoded at high bit-rates. They fit my ears sooooooooo much better the factory ipod headphones. Not sure how I feel bout the whole around the back of my neck cord setup but its not the end of the world. The case and earbuds that come with it seem to be decent for what they do. However, this leads me to the reason I wanted to review this thing.
I have seen people complain that the bass is weak and that they can hear their heartbeat when they have their headphones on. I had the same issue, but then read something. On the packaging it gives a warning that if bass seems weak then try a bigger set of the included silicone ear buds. Once more of your ear canal is filled more it eliminated the heartbeat issue completely! Now the one quirk is that if you are going to sing along with your music you can hear yourself through the headphones and it sounds funky, not just because its me singing btw :) Something to do with ear buds being deeper in your ear canal than normal headphones causes you to hear your voice like its in your head. I just do me and everyone around me a favor and don't sing!

These headphones sound absolutely claer and dynamic. The sound is full and bright; the bass not overpowering.
They are very light and comfortable. The asymmetric cord takes getting use to.
The downside is that every movement of the cord gets transmitted into the earphones. So they are great if you are sitting and reading while listening to music, not so great if you are excercising.
