Digital camera reviews of Sony MDR-NC50 Noise Canceling HeadphonesDigital camera Review: Awesome noise cancelling headphones! Summary: 5 Stars
I feel like I read every review on Amazon for noise cancelling headphones, and it was a good investment of my time! These headphones were a lot cheaper than the Bose ones but just as good quality-wise. I even wore them a good deal of my plane flight without the noise cancelling feature turned on, and they still helped a great deal. I haven't tried them yet with music, as the main reason I bought them is for noise cancelling. I highly recommend them, especially if you don't want to spend the money on the Bose ones!
Digital camera Review: Bad connection Summary: 1 Stars
The volume was so low that I had a hard time using these headphones. Yesterday (almost two months after received the phones) I discovered that the jack in the headphone was not making good contact. If I hold the plug in the jack at an angle it makes good contact and the sound is very good. I am trying to contact Sony to see what I can do about this problem.
Digital camera Review: Bad/Faulty Product Summary: 1 Stars
I bought mine with the anticipation that they would be as good as or better than the Bose QuietComfort 2 headphones.
I was wrong.
I received mine today, and eagerly opened the package. I hastily pulled my old Altec Lansing headset from my computer and plugged these in. I found a battery and put it in and turned these bad boys on! MY EARS!!! The feedback in these 'phones was TERRIBLE. I was also experiencing a very low hum that was literally shaking the left channel. I couldn't take it. So much for good noise cancelling headphones by Sony. I turned off the noise cancelling and just listened to them regular. I was disappointed to say the least. This set does not have very good bass response. The mids sounded thick and muddy. I also did not experience very crisp highs. I am hoping I got either a bad or faulty product. To put it shortly: Do not buy these headphones.
Now I get to evaluate Amazon's return services!
Digital camera Review: Bangin' Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the MDR-NC50s at Circuit City for $50 (they were mis-marked!). Even still, I think they are worth the full price for people who really care about their music, and they are a lot less than the Bose. Do you get aggrivated if your CD burner inserts track breaks that are too long? Do you know the exact EQ settings for optimal sound on your stereo? Have you told your significant other to shut up when your song is on? If yes, then these headphones might be for you. I haven't tested the sound cancelation on a plane yet, but it works fine in noisy public places. If I wear them for a very long time (a few hours) sometimes it begins to hurt a little, but not always. Another reviewer said that the cord falls out too easily; I had this problem too, and then I pushed the cord in all the way [blushes sheepishly]. When its in all the way, you'll know it.
In sum, these headpones are big, expensive, and sometimes uncomfortable. Still, if you are obsesive about sound quality, there's no better way to go.
Digital camera Review: Best headphones for your dollar Summary: 5 Stars
These headphones have an excellent sound quality. The bass is true bass, the treble true treble, etc. The noise cancelling attribute works like a charm, whether I'm on a plane, at work, or at home. No regrets here!
