Digital camera reviews of Sony MDR-NC6 Noise Canceling Headphones

Digital camera Review: A total disappointment
Summary: 1 Stars

These headphones cancelled about 10% of the noise in the room. They were not at all as I expected.

Digital camera Review: Adequate but bulky
Summary: 3 Stars

They'd be a lot more user friendly if they were a folding design. In my normal working environment they do a good job of taking out most of the noise of cooling fans, but they don't remove the higher frequency hiss of air and they either leave or add a low frequency thrumming. I tends towards them adding it because I've never been aware of it even when all the air cooling systems are off. Audio quality is OK, I wouldn't go further than that.

I have yet to find a consumer offering, including the Bose headsets, that comes anywhere near to the combined active/passive effects of a good aircrew headset. Still searching for a good solution.

Digital camera Review: Almost perfect
Summary: 4 Stars

Noise cancelling works perfectly on airplanes and on my farm tractor. Unfortunately, the earpieces are only surface pads; if they had completely enclosed the ear this product would rate a 5.

I bought them last year for about $75. At this $34 price they are an absolute bargain.

Digital camera Review: Alright
Summary: 3 Stars

These work pretty well. Music and movies sound pretty clear. You can really tell the low audible range is being cancelled out. They work pretty well on the plane, and when I take them off I think the low drone of the plane is too loud and have to put them back on.

These are not super comfortable though with glasses on. They really press hard on my ears and my ears get sore from the arms of my glasses. The picture looked as though it had that ring of padding around the speakers, but they don't, just the normal foam mesh that came on headphones in the 80's.

Sometimes I feel like I still have to drown out some noise (on the intermittent and high end frequencies) to listen. This is something I shouldn't have to do with the full ear headphones. This is probably due to the missing extra padding around the edge to seal your ears in. If they had more padding, I would give 5 stars

Digital camera Review: Amazing Headphones
Summary: 5 Stars

At first I was skeptical about the "Noise Cancelling" feature, but when I recived the headphones (a week late =[ ) i was quick to try it out. I stood next to my fan and flicked teh switch on and off. the difference was like NIGHT AND DAY. It completely works!! 100%. I love them, sound quality is good, but not the best, but definitly worth the buy :D
