I'm using them as headphones for my laptop and they sound great. No complaints and they are extremely comfortable. Long cord with plug adaptor to fit a receiver. I bought these headphones after noticing that this is the model used in the listening exhibits at the Experience Music Project in Seattle. The sound quality is amazing--it not only amplifies every nuance of what you're listening to, but also blocks out any ambient noise due to its padded, surround-the-ear design. My husband watches soccer matches (and cheers loudly) in the same room, and I can listen to my iTunes in peace with no distraction whatsoever. I am a freelance camera operator and sometimes I end up having to edit projects. Since I don't edit often I did not want to spend lots of money on studio headphones but at least wanted something that would cancel out the outside world when I edited and this does just that. I was so impressed I took it out in the field with me on sets and it's great. I can't hear anything unless someone talks into the microphone going to the camera which is great. I love these headphones.
