Digital camera Review: Pro quality Headphones
Summary: 3 Stars
Sometimes, in the effort to make improvements, you miss the mark a little. Such is the case with these Sony MDR7509's.
They were designed as a replacement for the older MDR 7506 studio monitor headphones. The ear phones are larger and somewhat more comfortable for longer periods of time, as it covers the ear, instead of sitting on it.
But the larger diaphram seems slow, and dull compared to the older 7506's which have a punchier sound and higher highs. Of course, everyones hearing is different, and that could account for my preferrence for the 7506's.
The 7509's are fine instruments. I gave mine away to another musician who loves them.
