Digital camera Review: Good price, uneven features

My new Sony MHC-EC55 Mini Hi-Fi Component Systemhas very good sound reproduction for the price: the huge woofers can pump out the mid and low frequencies. The audio-in jack is a welcome surprise at this price.
However, the CD playback and search features lack any smoothness, and are worse even than much cheaper devices like portable CD players. Change the volume, and the sound (not the CD) skips at each number. (This is less noticeable above 20.) Pause the player and try to fast forward or rewind to a particular time in a track, and the counter moves by large jumps instead of smoothly. I purchased this unit for use in educational presentations about classical music. For my purposes, the unit's herky-jerky response overshadows the great sound I hear while the CD plays.

I purchased this stereo March 2009. It was much larger than I expected for being a "shelf unit" but the sound was really good. The CD player never seemed to work when loaded with 3 at a time but I usually just had one in so I didn't bother with it (thought maybe I was doing something wrong). May 2010 the CD player just stopped working. I can load one and it just says "reading" and makes noises but will not work. I couldn't find the paperwork until today and of course it's out of warranty. I am really disappointed with this being a Sony because the last one I had worked for 10 years or more. It's not worth sending it back so now I have to look for another one and I know it won't be a Sony.Digital camera Review: Good value

This product is a great value. Not just because it is a Sony and it is very cheap, but also the sound. The 3 tray CD changer is also nice.
