I bought these from Amazon for $60 when they were on sale. I must say I was pleasantly surprised with their performance. For this type of earbud, they are quite comfortable. They come with the standard range of silicone plug inserts, but these seem softer than most.
I've used them on several airplane trips and while they are not as good as over-ear models, they do quite well, especially at filtering out mid-range engine sounds and passenger chatter. I was able to sleep with them in during the flight. I should point out that the noise-canceling feature seems to work best when the AAA battery is fresh, and seems to gradually diminish as the battery gets depleted. Typically one AAA will last about 6-8 hours of use. The first time I turned them on with a fresh battery, I was actually surprised at how powerful the cancellation was.. it felt/sounded as if my head was being plunged into a bucket of water, everything getting muffled and distant.
Also included is an airline headphone adapter, but I've never used it. They are kind enough to include a little felt cinch-bag to contain all the bits and pieces, the good kind that has a bead-lock so that it doesn't open in your luggage. I've also found the felt bag makes a handy screen-wipe for laptop LCDs.
All and all, for $60 they are great. I wouldn't consider paying too much more than that though. It might be nice if there was a variable slider for the cancellation, but it's just an on-off switch, with a momentary cutoff switch that you can press in case someone is talking to you.

These headphones cancel out noise very well. I take public transit daily and enjoy listening to music. These were exactly what I wanted in a set of noise-canceling headphones. These earphones are FANTASTIC. I used them during a recent trip to England, and they by far exceeded my expectations. They were as good or better than some of the around the ear headphones that I have tried. Plus, the price couldn't be beat. I was very pleased with the battery life, too. I bought these for a trip to Europe hoping they would cut out enough plane noise to allow me, the light sleeper, to get some sleep on the plane.
Watching movies with the noise reduction turned on was great. I didn't have to have the volume super loud to hear dialogue. With my iPod off and the noise reduction on the sound was significantly reduced, you shouldn't expect it to be eliminated unless you are wearing ear defenders! But it was enough to block out what I needed. I even noticed I had to lip read the crew when thye asked what I wanted to drink!
One thing I did have to do was really push them into my ears at the right angle for maximum effect but they came out a couple of time when I was moving my head around on the little pillow they give you.
Generally, these are a great buy but if you want something that seriously blocks out everything you'll need to spend the money.
