This dry MiniDV format tape head cleaner works well with my Canon Optura 400. I'd recommend this cleaner for MiniDV cam users experiencing "digital snow", intermittent picture/sound dropouts, and other problems related to dirty heads. The output, both LCD and copper to my TV, displayed horizontal bars when viewing a mini DV on my Sony camcorder. After initial panic, I looked in the user guide and saw it was a symptom of a dirty head.
Running the head cleaner for 10 seconds cleared the picture and it is up and running again.
I have read on other sites that using tapes from multiple manufacturers is bad for the tape heads, and I have been using tapes from 3 different manufacturers.

This is a great cleaner for my Sony video camera. A more expensive generic cleaner bought at Radio Shack didn't do the job, but this one worked great.
