Digital camera Review: Best Remote Ever... Period
Summary: 5 Stars

For Xmas my wife and myself treated ourselves to an Olevia 32" LCD TV for the bedroom. One problem I needed 3 remotes. One for the TV, one for the Tivo and one for the cable box (for On Demand). Both the cable box and the Tivo have basic TV functions and refused to work with the TV. The expensive Logitech Remote that I also had refused to work with the TV. A morning spent Googling confirmed that there are issues with this TV and remotes.

The solution presented itself in an "Open-Box" Sony remote for $15. Quite simply put in learning mode it can learned anything!!! I have the TV component programmed to control ALL the functions that I use for all three remotes. The only time I need to change to another component is if I want to watch cable on demand (which is not often).

Excellent product for the price, in fact I'm going to buy another one to replace the Logitech Harmony in the main room.

Digital camera Review: Best Remote I've owned
Summary: 5 Stars

Hands down this is the best universal remote I've ever purchased. Battery life Unk? Sound Quality N/A. Here's why, for all those that could not find their applicable product's code. First, I'm impatient so I decided to take advantage of the learning function instead of using the search for code function. For this to work you have to still have the original product remotes which I do. Products I needed to manually teach the remote to control were JVC Blue Ray player and SKY TV DVR SAT Receiver. It was extremely simple to just point and teach the remote each function from the original remote. Started with power on and then continued with all the others I wanted it to know. I love the learning function.
Hope this helps. David

Digital camera Review: Best Universal remote known to MAN or WOMAN
Summary: 5 Stars

when I ordered this I accidentally ordered two.. well no big deal I'll just return the second one.. after setting up the first one there is NO way the second one is going back!!
I have a off brand DVD VCR combo recorder that wasn't listed in the book of codes..
guess what NO problem!!
set this remote to learn the other remote function.. hold that button down on the devices remote and bing!! done.. this remote now preforms that function on that device...
PLUS!!!
you can program SEVERAL devices under one device settings..
so the TV setting can control the TV
the DVD setting can control the DVD
but the AUX setting can be trained to control the TV your sound system and the cable box ALL under one device!!
you just have to remember what button does what
on mine under AUX I programed the volume controls to work the volume on my home theater system, the channel buttons control the channel on the cable box, and the STOP / PLAY buttons work on the DVD player!!
this is by far the easiest universal remote I have ever owned or had the PLEASURE of programing!!

Digital camera Review: Best Value Learning Remote
Summary: 5 Stars

I have equipment that does not use the built-in codes, like an Olevia LCD, U-Verse Cable Box, Extreme Mac Speaker. This remote had 5 step to learn each buttons from old remote by pointing the old remote to the Sony Learning Remote and it records each buttons signal. I purchased a GE brand from home depot for the same price prior to this Sony, but I returned it because learning instruction was too complicated and buttons seemed flimsy. The Sony Remote has a decent feel and sturdy case and soft buttons.

Digital camera Review: Best bang for the buck
Summary: 5 Stars

Pros - Learning capable, convenient key layout, good range, macro buttons

Cons - My only complaint is that the 4 buttons outside of the directional pad (guide, menu, tools, exit) are a little too small. This makes it hard to feel if you have actually pressed the button.

Great remote - especially for the price! This remote fully controls all of my components. With the learning function I am able to control all the settings on my stereo receiver that no other universal remote has been able to. The macro buttons are great for turning everything on/off using only 1 button.
