Digital camera reviews of Sony SRF-M37V FM/AM/Weather/TV Radio Walkman with 25 Memory PresetsDigital camera Review: Disappointing reception of weaker stations Summary: 2 Stars
While this radio has several cool features, including VHF (channels 2-13) TV reception, it disappoints when the listener is trying to tune into weaker FM stations. It loses the signal or is overwhelmed by stronger stations when the wearer walks just a few yards. If you only listen to stations with strong signals, this is a good buy. Unfortunately I listen to the Bay Area NPR station for which this radio is relatively useless. It also does a poorer job indoors.
Digital camera Review: Disappointment Summary: 2 Stars
I've owned other Sony products and been pleased with them. This one is a disappointment. It plays beautifully, as long as you are not moving. If I use it while walking (remember, it is called "Walkman") the signal strength varies and noise intrudes. This is true even for strong local broadcasters. I would not buy this product again. Feh!
Digital camera Review: Don't waste your money! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this radio because of reviews that said it didn't suffer from interference. WRONG! Maybe earlier builds of this radio were good, but the one I got is good only for listening to 3+ stations simultaneously. I live in the Boston area, where there a lot of radio stations and most of the time it seems like I was receiving all of them at once. The Local switch didn't help--nothing did.
Digital camera Review: EXCELLENT LITTLE RADIO! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased two of these little Sony t.v. radios. The various radio stations and t.v. stations I get here in the San Francisco bay area comes in pretty clear. It's small and it fits right into your pocket easily. Great little radio to take to the gym or just to go out for some power walking. Thumbs up for this litte gem!
Digital camera Review: Exactly what I was looking for Summary: 5 Stars
This radio has great reception on both AM and FM. I live about 20 miles outside of Detroit, MI and I get loud and clear reception on all the stations I ever care to listen to. This radio is small but not flimsy, and the buttons and volume controls are not so small or sensitive that they are a nuisance to use. The detachable belt clip on the back is really sturdy, so when I am doing anything active, I clip it on my belt behind my back and get great reception through the very comfortable headphones. The feature I like best of all is the lock-out switch which prevents any of the buttons except the volume control from operating, so that you can't accidently shut the power off or change the station. I previously had an Aiwa mini radio that was a little smaller, but it had a flimsy metal belt clip that broke after about 10 uses, and it was always getting accidentally thrown off-station. It cost more than twice as much as this M37 which doesn't have any of those problems. This radio is a great buy!
