Digital camera reviews of Sony SRF-M97 Radio Walkman

Digital camera Review: A really good compact radio
Summary: 4 Stars

I got this for my partner who was using a clunky old cassette walkman on his daily power walks - hard to fit in the pocket of gym shorts and a pain to have to carry. This works fine; the fidelity of the earphones could be better, but that's a problem I've found with all earbud type devices. Good price, good performance, and you don't have to be an engineer to program it.

Digital camera Review: An Unexpected, Shockingly Poor Sony Product!
Summary: 1 Stars

As an owner of two previous high end Sony Walk-FM products,
I was looking forward to this highly touted and hard-to-find item.
Disappointment and disbelief were my rewards: poor signal-to-noise,
poor rejection of neighboring stations, significant multipath deflection,
poor general sound quality, poorly functioning ear buds in an
attractive, tiny package.
Don't even consider the SRF-M97!!!

Digital camera Review: Another Great Sony Product
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been a Sony customer since 1962 when I purchased their 101 reel-to-reel Tapecorder and it still works as well as it did the first day. Needless to say, this Sony SRF-M97 Radio Walkman is a gem, but programming the initial stations is cumbersome. However, after much trial & error it all comes together. It's worth every cent!

Digital camera Review: Best little speakerless radio EVER
Summary: 5 Stars

I've spent a week with this little jewel and, after playing with the programming mode, finally got the hang of entering preset stations. The manual doesn't do a capable enough job of explaining how to do it. Once you get the jist of it, though, it's pretty easy. The sound is incredible, the reception is very good, the size is amazing, and the battery life is very impressive. ONE AAA lasts for quite a while, and, the little symbol that tells you "battery wear" is quite ingenious!! This little companion is one of the best radios I've ever owned. I've just ordered TWO more, just in case. The little earbuds that come standard with the set do a very capable job. One COULD upgrade and, perhaps, get better sound, but, not really needed. I do a lot of brisk walking, and, this is the perfect companion for being on the road. This would also be a great "companion" at ballgames. The small size is amazing and the performance is tops. It's no wonder that a lot of the websites that carry this item show that it's out of stock. Get it. It's a great radio. By the way, the mega bass switch is extremely impressive. The BIG sound of this set for such a small unit is unbelievable. I LOVE this radio!!!!

Digital camera Review: Best small radio I've ever had
Summary: 5 Stars

Have been using mine since it first came out. It is still the most compact on market, withstands a little athletic adventure and reception is excellent. I use it in mountains and other odd places and have had great luck with it. I have nothing to complain about. Mine finally died the day it went to the beach (?unknown reason) and I miss it greatly. Bought it when it was half the price, not sure the new price is realistic in the mp3 world. Would immediately buy another if price went down.
