Digital camera Review: Great Radio! Very Small! Really Surprise!

I looked all around for a gift for a couple of full time radio listener. I need a gift that has quality in it; and came across the Sony SRF-M97 Radio Walkman. I read all the reviews here before I purchase this radio. I took the liberty to also to purchase one for myself too.
I just been play around with it for an hour; and the radio is ***** stars. The trouble is with the earbuds which act as antenna to the radio. When the wire swings in FM mode; sometimes the reception fades in and out! The included earbuds are the same high quality as my Apple ipod nano 2nd Generation but fit my ears better; they don't fall off. I had some hard time judging the quality of the earbuds until I swap them with my nano and they were equal in sound quality!
I solve the fading of the station by placing the earbud wires under my shirt which keeps them stationery.
The AM comes across like a $1,000 C. Crane radio in my opinion. Alot of stations; many out of the area stations FM band is also the same way! I think the number of stations that I have to choose from has doubled. Local station are crystal clear for both bands. Alot of out of state stations are quite good.
All in all; it is a complete shock! I really love this radio. I guess that what you can expect from a $150.00 plus radio! Oh well; you get what you pay for!
Right now I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to given this radio to the serious radio listeners!

I bought this radio as a gift for my boyfriend, as a discrete way for him to listen to the ballgame while I dragged him around town. It was a perfect fit! This is a very good radio and better than my old Radio Shack brand that finally gave out.My old one mind you could only pick up a few stations clearly.Now with this new one I'm getting over 15 FM stations clearly some in Philly and some in New Jersey.I assume since I'm only 35 miles from Philly that would explain why I'm getting the outstanding reception.The AM is great as well as it comes in very clear.There are also a few features that come in handy.One is that you can set the radio to turn off automatically after a set time.Also has bass boost and a digital clock.I leave it on the DX mode because if it's on the local setting the stations will sometimes have static.Also you will be surprised at how tiny and compact it is making it easy to carry around.It's also very convenient to jog through the preset stations while on the go and it also has a lock mode for when you what just one station set.Now the important news.The provided headphones are useless.This is probably why other reviewers could not get good reception.Frankly,I got no reception at all when I pluged them in because the FM antenna is in the headphone wire.Not only that but the ear buds don't even fit in your ears.What I got instead are the Sennheisers PX-100 portable headphones and now I'm getting outstanding reception from them as well as great sound quality.So if you order the sony radio make sure you get some portable headphones too.Digital camera Review: Great little radio

I have owned a couple of these little radios and am sad that they were discontinued by Sony. I am on my third, not because they are fragile or break easily, but rather because I ALWAYS have one going, and drop them, have been caught in the rain, etc...
I stream Sirius over FM in my house, and listen to it on this radio. It is a GREAT product. I also keep it by my bedside, in case I wake in the night and want to listen to get back to sleep. I can even use it with ease when half asleep.
