Digital camera reviews of Sony SRFH4 Analog Tuning AM / FM Headphone Radio

Digital camera Review: Don't buy this
Summary: 1 Stars

Don't waste your money on this. I didn't notice when ordering that this is analog-to tune to a radio station, you have to try to see through a tiny yellow window and look at the dial as you try to find a station. I didn't know that radios with dials like this were even made any more. You have to go through that process each time you want to change stations. The last headphones I had like this were digital and a touch of the button changed stations. The reception is lousy, too-turn your head the wrong way and you lose the signal. get a digital set as I'm going to do after I throw these out.

Digital camera Review: Few Choices for Headphone Radios
Summary: 3 Stars

Sony's SRFH4 AM FM Headphone Radio isn't able to hold an FM station located ten miles away. I have to keep contorting my head every ten seconds to try to regain reception. Someone needs to make a better headphone radio.

Digital camera Review: Finally a product that lives up to the hype!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a relatively new (2nd season) NFL Season/Ticket holder and had noticed a few people sprinkled throughout the section my seats are in were using head-sets to get the local play by play. I originally purchased a much more expensive Sony Walkman Model #SRF-HMD3V FM/AM & TV they have a verticle sliding interior ear piece that I found very uncomfortable to wear due to limited flexibility. They were difficult to operate and ate up battery power like it was going out of style. There is no comparison to the Sony SRFH14 Analog Tuning AM/M Headphone Radio. It is much less expensive, easy to operate, and I am still only on my first original set of batteries. It is comfortable to wear and the reception is fantastic. One out of two isn't bad? Thank you for another great product!

Digital camera Review: For that retro look, not too bad, but really....
Summary: 2 Stars

What can one say about an analog tuning headphone radio in 2008? Twiddling dials (in this case, a VERY sensitive, difficult tuning knob) on the side of a clunky thing on your head, with a big antenna sticking up, is awkward, clumsy, and plain dorky. Anyone who for some reason likes this rather retro form factor (any movement sends it flying off one's head) will surely want a model with digital tuning--buttons for preset favorite stations and for scanning up and down the spectrum for other stations.

That said, this model has pretty good reception once you manage to get the finicky knob just exactly on the station you want. I like it when I'm sitting--I refuse to believe anyone wears it to work out--and it was an OK deal in November 2007 for $19.95. Now it's priced at $99.87, which is surely some hilarious mistake. In this day and age, a tiny MP3 player with a built-in digital radio tuner and discreet, firmly placed earbuds can be had for $30 or so, and it's a much better buy.

Digital camera Review: GOT WHAT I PAID FOR
