I bought this Sony Headphone radio in 2006 for $19.95. I used it twice daily for the entire time until I lost it a few weeks ago. It still worked great. I am looking to replace it now and was astonished to see that the price is not $179.99!!!!!!!! As I said I bought it for $19.95. It is a great product, but not that great! I hoped that Sony would have a similar product at a similar price, but I have not yet found anything similar. I am on my second one of these models. The first lasted several years and several hard shocks. At the price, when it gave out I felt that I had gotten my money's worth.
With the entry of MP3 players into the market, the choices of the headset style of radio have decreased. It does not have any station presets and doesn't have a jack for your iPod. The reception is pretty good. Overall it is good enough to serve its purpose.

This headset radio is comfortable and has clear sound. However, unlike the older Sony model I had for 10 years, this new one has a tendency to lose reception sporadically, cutting in and out. I find I have to either turn it off and back on again to get it going, or wait until I hike around a bend in the road. The older model got better reception.Digital camera Review: Retro radio

I could not find this item in the traditional electronics venues.
The previous more elaborate model simply stopped working; though I did enjoy the digital features. The analogue replacement does it's job efficiently of providing hands-free listening for a modest price.
A low tech solution that worked for me.
