QUESTION FOR OWNERS OF THIS MODEL........I upgraded from an older Sony Receiver which was an older surround sound model but without HDMI connections. With the older model I had individual control of the amount of volume coming from the front, center and rear speakers and could go up or down on any of these three without affecting the others. On the STR-DH700 model I have not found that I can do this without affecting the other speakers placement meaning that if I increase one speaker they all change with it.
HOW can I get more volume from my rear speakers without increase the front and center speakers? It seems you have to go through several levels to even get to the speaker volume control and even with the auto calibration I still do not get the sound from the rear I would like and the entire system is ALL SONY.

I bought this for my bedroom to replace a crummy logitech surround sound I had hooked up to my plasma. (What was I thinking?) I paired this up with some sony speakers and I'm very impressed. After seeing some of the negative reviews last minute I was worried but for a budget receiver I'm extremely happy with it. It does the job for TV, XBOX and BLU-RAY. Those of you looking for TrueHD Sound you won't find it in this model but more than likely your blu-ray player already decodes it so its not necessary. Don't hesitate to try this one out. I really like this product and it gave me the sound that I wanted and was looking for. Truly, I doubt if I would ever be able to use this receiver at its full potential because I live in an apartment building and my neighbors would be complaining :)
All in all... very satisfied... but... the set up instructions leaves a lot to be desired.
