I primarily bought the TCM-150 to play back audio tapes. Some of the earlier comments mentioned its frequency range. Remember that this is a portable tape player. Besides, if you're interested in fidelity, you should look at something else. For my part, I was personally happy with the rock tape I played. I was especially pleased with the built-in speaker. It's larger than I expected for a player of this size. Consequently, I can easily listen to audio without having to use earphones. Finally, I didn't see any problems with the player's quality. Is this a stereo for music? No. Is it perfect for listening to Flashman books on tape? YES. Takes a full size headphones and the sound is superb for voice while not bothering your mate two feet away.
